Although it made its static debut earlier this year at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, Honda continues development of a go-faster version of the Prelude sports coupe. It will make its dynamic debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Prelude HRC, while officially a concept for now, is inspired by Honda’s motorsports activities and shows the potential of the Prelude platform.

Developed with motorsports-derived performance parts engineered by Honda Racing Corporation and Honda Access Corporation, the Prelude HRC Concept features enhanced driving dynamics and driver engagement.

Outside, the Prelude HRC is immediately identifiable with its forged carbon fiber rear wing, front splitters, side skirts, side mirrors, and rear diffuser. The wide body kit also enables the fitment of 265-wide tires—the same ones used by the Civic Type R.

Building on the Civic Type R’s base, the Prelude HRC also sports a lower ride height, HRC-branded lightweight wheels from Enkei with 265/30R19 tires. It also swaps out its blue caliper Brembo brakes for more traditional red ones.

For those who want a bit more straight-line performance, Honda says that, as of now, there are no changes done to its 2.0-liter e:HEV powertrain. Its total system output remains at 203 horsepower—141 horsepower from the Atkinson cycle engine and 184 horsepower from the two-motor hybrid system.
