Mazda Is Bringing 2 787Bs And Holding Heritage Car Test Drives At This Year's Fan Festa At Fuji Speedway


Culminating the 35th anniversary of their 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, Mazda has announced that at the Mazda Fan Festa 2026, two Mazda 787Bs will run together for the first time.

The two 787Bs, in Charge livery, will run together at the Fuji International Speedway alongside other racing cars from Mazda’s history to today’s Super Taikyu racers.

On the first day, a special luncheon commemorating the 35th anniversary of the 1991 Le Mans victory—ƀ la Table du Mans—will be offered. For an additional 180,000 yen, it features a special menu created by then-team chef Masayo Waki. The private pit lounge also offers an opportunity to interact with Yojiro Terada and people who worked alongside him during the same era.

This celebration forms a part of this year’s Mazda Fan Festa 2026 at Fuji Speedway, where the theme is “Enjoy cars even more.” Around 70 different events and activities are planned allowing car enthusiasts to families to experience the appeal of Mazda.

Apart from the 787B demonstration run, there will be a special exhibition showing original works of Shuichi Shigeno, the creator of Initial D, who has featured many Mazda cars such as the RX-7.

And for the first time, Mazda is also expanding its on-site test drive program to include some of heritage models.

General admission tickets, parking passes, and tickets for various paid content will go on sale starting at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 16th. Priced at 3,000 yen inclusive of an early bird discount (4,500 yen for on-site purchases).

The Mazda Fan Festa 2026 at Fuji Speedway is happening on Saturday, October 3 (7 AM to 7:30 PM) and Sunday, October 4 (7 AM to 6:30 PM).
