The 2027 Nissan Navara Pro PHEV To Come In 2 Variants For The Philippines

Nissan Philippines is busy electrifying its line-up. After the Kicks e-Power received its homologation courtesy of the Department of Energy, its first-ever Plug-In Hybrid, the Navara Pro PHEV has done the same.

Based on the carmaker’s filings with the DOE, the Navara Pro will come in two variants—the Navara Pro VL and the Navara Pro LE, both to be offered with “Premium Color” options. Regardless of variant, they share the same dimensions with a 5,594 mm length, 1,960 mm width, and 1,945 mm height.

It’s the same story with the powertrain where both Navara Pro variants have a 1.5-liter PHEV powertrain. Locally, Nissan Philippines lists the Navara Pro’s transmission to have an E-CVT, but in China, it’s said to be a 4DHT.

Per its global specs, the Navara Pro’s turbocharged 1.5-liter generator (DFMC15TE3) produces 125 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque. This feed power to an electric motor putting out 212 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Combined, it makes 435 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The 20-kWh lithium ternary battery (33 kWh gross) offers about 131 kilometers of all electric range (NEDC) and a whopping 1,050 kilometers of combined range.

The “P20 PHEV” model offers a high level of equipment with 18-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake and auto hold as standard. The difference mainly has to do with the all-wheel drive system where base models have a part-time four-wheel drive system, while the higher variants offer an intelligent all-wheel drive system.

Among possible interior features include a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, power adjustment to both the front seats with heating and ventilation, a 60/40 split-folding rear bench, dual zone climate control with rear vents, ambient lighting, a 10-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment system with up to 12 speakers, and Level 2 ADAS.

Although Nissan Philippines has still kept quiet on the Navara Pro’s exact release date, with it now receiving the DOE’s nod, it’s just a matter of a few weeks (or months) before retail sales start. Will you prefer to get this over the BYD Shark or the Changan Nevo Hunter?

  1. Navara pro4x is already almost 2.5M. This will be no doubt more expensive, if so, it will struggle against the Chinese competitors. Let's see if Nissan's brand image is enough to allow this to sell well. For pickups, I also prefer mechanical 4WD with low range like the GWM Cannon Alpha and the upcoming Chery Stockman.

  2. Yeah of course Nissan still has prestige over china brands. Nissan quality and prestige + Nissan China technology = miles better than all China competitors

    1. What prestige? Nissan is notorious for their CVT transmission failures. If you look at this pickup more closely, it is just a re-badge Dongfeng

    2. its already 2026 boy, what notorious cvt are you talking about??? You’re still living in 2000. Rebadge is miles different from joint venture. Nissan brand equity miles better than any china brands competitors. Once it arrives here sharks and other direct competitors will cry a thousand tears 😭 😭😭

    3. Yes, I think Nissan brand is strong enough that I think Nissan will sell more than the Chinese brands, even though this is pretty much fully a Chinese car with minimal Nissan input.

Think of it this way. Let's say Nissan PH will offer the Navara Pro PHEV at 2.7M, while let's say Dongfeng will sell the Z9 PHEV at 1.9M, absolutely the same spec for spec. Filipinos will still for sure buy the Nissan-badged version for sure.

Look at the Dongfeng Rich 6 and Nissan Navara. Both are basically the exact same thing, and even the Dongfeng one ups the Navara by using the M9T/YS23 engine (the superior engine that the Nissan Navara in the rest of the world uses) while Philippines uses the outdated YD25. Dongfeng Rich is cheaper still. But the Navara comfortably outsells the Rich.

Malakas pa rin ang image ng Nissan dito sa Pilipinas.

    4. Navara PHEV target will be the 2.6M byd shark. Pagdating dito ng Navara magiging tilapia nayang shark 😁

    5. Its not really a Navara. Its just a Dongfeng that was put on a little lipstick and slapped Nissan badges. If you dig a little deeper Dongfeng is near or at the bottom of reliability rankings in China.

    6. Nissan navara PHEV vs byd shark, pinoy car buyers will pick the Navara if the price is right. Navara already had a good reputation here, shark and other BYD’s sold well bcoz there are no Japanese direct competitors offering yet.

  4. The Nissan Primer (N7) has been filed at the DOE since March and it’s still not on sale… wonder if this will be launched here first.
