All-New Mazda CX-5 Production Goes into Overdrive as Manila Launch Nears

Mazda is proving just how flexible its manufacturing processes can be. In order to respond quickly and flexibly to the growing demand for its second-generation CX-5, the company just announced that they’ll be producing it at the Hofu Plant in Yamaguchi prefecture. This is in addition to the Hiroshima Plant where it’s currently being produced.

It seems the sale of Opel and Vauxhall is just the first step for General Motors, if a report by Automotive News, is anything to go by. In the report, CEO Mary Barra has said that GM isn’t going for volume anymore (the sale of Opel and Vauxhall shrinks their global volume by 12 percent), but will instead concentrate on making every country, every market segment “earn its cost of capital.”
