First-Ever BMW M Bike Arrives In The Philippines: Meet The P 2.995M M 1000RR

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the official distributor of BMW Motorrad in the Philippines is bringing in a small batch of the first-ever M bike: the M 1000RR.

Based on the S 1000RR, itself a homologated superbike built for the World Superbike (WorldSBK) championship, the M 1000RR now generates 212-horsepower 999-cc (1-liter) at 14,500 rpm. The water/oil-cooled inline-4 also generates a healthy 113 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm.

To do this, the M 1000RR adopts titanium connecting rods and valves, lighter pistons, and higher compression ratios. The powertrain also breathes better through its variable geometry throttle bodies and lightweight titanium exhaust system

The BMW M 1000RR comes with seven riding modes. It also is equipped with Dynamic Traction Control and Wheelie Control that are managed by a six-axis inertial platform. The six-speed gearbox is equipped with Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless gear shifting up and down. For racetrack optimization, the shifting pattern can be easily inverted from standard to GP shift.

Apart from generating more power, the M 1000RR also gets a revised and optimized suspension system, and a far more powerful braking system that feature four-piston calipers at the front.

Honed for high-speed riding, the M 1000RR also adopts carbon winglets that actually generate sizeable downforce (up to 16 kilograms). The re-designed windshield also helps riders at speeds past 290 km/h.

In the Philippines, BMW Philippines has brought in the M 1000 RR in the Competition package. This adds M milled parts and M carbon fiber parts further highlighting the sporty look. Only one color is available and that’s Light White / M Motorsport.

The price is P 2.995 million, and is now available for orders at BMW Motorrad dealers nationwide.
