All-New Ford Explorer Arrives In The Philippines With Standard 304 Horsepower, Self-Sealing Tires (w/ Specs)

After a handful of all-new Explorers made their way into the country last March, Ford Philippines is now officially launching its all-new mid-sized 7-seater SUV. Weirdly enough, it flew below the radar once more.

Built from the ground up on a new platform, the all-new Explorer gets standard all-wheel drive (for now). Designers were then able to give it a more athletic appearance with its wraparound LED headlights and polished 20-inch alloy wheels (255/55R20 tires) with self-sealing tires.

Ford Philippines is making just once variant available: the 2.3 Limited. With that, it comes with 304 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. A 10-speed automatic with a rotary dial gear selector is the sole gearbox available.

The Explorer 2.3 Limited 4WD also offers the Terrain Management System with 7 selectable driving modes. These modes include deep snow/sand, sport, two/haul. For safety, it comes with Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+. This combines driver assist and crash prevention features such as a forward sensing system, lane keeping system, and 360-degree camera with washer.

Inside, the Explorer Limited has amenities including leather seats with micro perforation, ventilated/heated front seats, second row sun blinds, a tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by SYNC 3, a 12-speaker B&O sound system, and a wireless charger. Other accruements include a twin-panel moon roof, a power folding third row, and hands-free power tailgate.

Pricing—P 2,998,000—is the same as in March, but in terms of colors there are now a total of eight available: Agate Black, Carbonized Gray, Iconic Silver, Star White, Oxford White, Rapid Red, Stone Gray, and Atlas Blue.

    1. That comment didn't make sense. This is an all-new model riding on an all-new platform.

  2. When will Ford Philippines release the Explorer PHEV model?

  3. is the timberline variant coming to the phils too?

  4. For now, just one variant. However, given the popularity of the Explorer Sport, expect the ST or ST Line to be offered as well. The PHEV and Timberline models are less likely to appear here though.
