These Are The Full Specs Of The 2023 Hyundai Creta For The Philippines

We’ve already tackled the complete specs of the Tucson, Santa Fe, and Staria in separate articles. And now, to complete Hyundai Motor Philippines’ launch line-up, here are the complete specs of their compact crossover, the 2023 Creta.

To recall, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is making the all-new Creta available in two variants: the GL and GLS. The GL arrives in both 6-speed manual and IVT (CVT) flavors priced at P 998,000 and P 1,170,000, respectively. A limited-edition red color in GL IVT is also available for P 1,323,000. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line GLS IVT comes in at P 1,332,000.

Regardless of variant, the Philippine market Creta uses the same engine: a SmartstreamG 1.5-liter DOHC with Dual CVVT technology. The maximum output is pegged at 115 horsepower, while maximum torque is 144 Nm. Also standard across the line are 17-inch alloy wheels, but with the GLS getting a two-tone design. The GLS is also the only variant to get a two-tone exterior color scheme. Colors available are: Creamy White, Dragon Red, Midnight Black, and Magnetic Silver.

Explaining the big jump in pricing between the GL M/T and the GL IVT, the GL M/T comes with halogen headlights without any automatic light control (the rest of the line-up gets LED headlights with automatic light control). It also deletes the roof rails.

Inside, the GL M/T offers just a tilt-adjustable steering column versus the rest which offers standard tilt/telescopic adjustment. The steering wheel material is finished in urethane versus leatherette for the rest of the Creta line. The same leatherette variant is found in the GL IVT variant upward.

When it comes to screens, the sole three-pedal version gets conventional gauges with a 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen and an integrated radio with a 3.8-inch screen, while all IVT variants benefit from a 10.25-inch Supervision Cluster with an 8-inch touchscreen audio system. All variants get a 4-speaker system.

Finally, in the safety department, the all Creta variants get dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control as standard, but only the GLS IVT gets the Hyundai Smartsense advanced driver assist. This bundles tech such as blind spot indicators, lane keep assist, and forward collision avoidance.

  1. Is the forward collision - avoidance assist has an automatic emergency breaking or just a beep warning?

    1. It automatically brakes for both vehicles and pedestrians (according to HMPH specs).

    2. These driver assist tech are a bane on PH roads... alarms, stirring correction and sudden braking are normally triggered by the chaotic road environment.

    3. It depends on how the manufacturer has tuned the system relative to our local road conditions.

On my experience, it's not that intrusive in background despite the ridiculously abhorrent road conditions (and road rage-happy driving attitude) here in our country, and it rarely blurt out false alarms (and most of them are coming from rascal motorcycle drivers that squeeze through those microscopic spaces between lanes.) The ADAS is there to act as a secondary guard, and is not meant to replace sound driving practices. Especially in our country wherein plenty drivers are walking trigger hotheads, rarely using turn signals and gonna mouth you off when you call them out.

    4. In my own (I drove few cars that had ADAS and I own a Mazda) it's not a bane. Though, I use it more on less-populated highways, expressways and less on those sardine-squeeze roads (though I turn on AEB most on a clear day, on those conditions, expect a lot of beeping from the ADAS.)

    5. ADAS can both be useful or a bane depending on the way they're executed. Some brands like Isuzu need to work on their ADAS because there are too much false alarms. Others, like Subaru's EyeSight and Honda's latest-generation Honda SENSING work very well even for our roads.

  2. Where is the guy always complaining about Korean cars that are setting on fire?

    1. Probably butting heads along with anti-RG Ford bois.

    2. Kia/Hyundai cars do burst into flames in the US. Hyundai even sent out an advisory not to park inside the garage so as not to burn the house down in case of fires while parked overnight. Are we lucky that local Kia/Hyundais are different?

    3. I am the guy who is "always complaining about Korean cars that are setting on fire." Thank you to Anonymous @ 2:33pm for reminding the others above about the seriousness of Hyundai and Kia vehicle defects. I don't understand why they are ignoring these facts. Maybe they are simply Hyundai/Kia fanboys or sales agents.

    4. There are Hyndai/Kia fanboys? :)

  3. Ugly looking front. The one made in India and Brazil looks a ton better. Hyundai downgraded the design of this vehicle

    1. Exterior design of SEA spec Creta is much better..Using the old one isn't a good idea

  4. Less powerful than the Venue while being larger and heavier. I dont understand where HMPH is positioning the Creta, is it supposed to be better than the Venue?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, they've officially phased out the Venue. There are remaining stocks, but after that, it's gone. Must be cost prohibitive to import them from Korea.

    2. hi Anonymous 7-26-22 1:07pm. pls check the wikipedia about the engine specs of our venue(Gamma engine).

      Delete
    3. That makes more sense now. Sad, the Venue was an underrated crossover killed by poor marketing (no media events for the Venue AFAIK, likely because of the pandemic)

With the Reina guaranteed to receive the axe and the Accent's future unclear, I wonder what HMPH's entry will be to the sub1M category. There's now a lot of pressure on the Stargazer to sell well if it gets sold here..

    4. The Venue, even though it has a slightly higher powered engine (123HP/151Nm vs. 115HP/144Nm), uses a conventional torque converter 6AT so it has a higher power loss than the IVT-equipped Creta. Power measured at the wheels should be higher on the latter, while being more fuel-efficient given it uses the newer Smartstream series of engines. Power-to-weight ratio remains to be seen since the article doesn't mention the Creta's curb weight.

      Delete
    5. We finally got the curb weight for the Creta: 1,165 to 1,175 kg. We updated the article to reflect that.

      Delete
    6. So it's lighter than the Venue at 1232kg, the critic above is spreading fake news. The Venue is heavier, uses a more lossy tranny so P-to-W ratio is lower. It has 4 more airbags though & static bending headlights.

  5. Hi Uly(Carguide.Ph)our venue is remaining in our market and hyundai PH's best selling and under P1M crossovers and kona phased out in PH market.

  6. Subjectively, seems Hyundais/Kias already look old while yet to be or newly introduced into the market?

  7. 2 airbags?really?akala ko tapos na ung days ng hari for such basic safety di pa pala haha..ung venue na mas mura na may 6 airbags tapos ngaun 2 airbags baka maya 1 air bag na lang yan?lol

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hyundai Venue is axed already as its expensive to import and sell.
2 airbags and ABS is fine so its not a big deal
Mitsubishi and Isuzu are selling lots of commercial vehicles without airbags and ABS.

    2. Ok nayan kay kotchi, gaya ng overpriced nya na mirage sedan na walang hillstart assist n traction/stability control.

    3. You can live without hill start assist and TCS..As if many Pinoy car buyers use those features 🤣

  8. Does this have rear aircon vents? Panoramic sunroof? Hyundai site doesn't mention them, but the graphics clearly show a sunroof.

    Replies
    1. No mention of those features in the spec sheet.

  9. Specs are better at its price. Good move from Hyundai PH.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Uly, since you mentioned here that the Venue is going to be discontinued here (because they deemed it too expensive to import from Korea—hence they're waiting for the Indonesian plant to go full max) do you think their future Casper derivative (AX1 codename, using the same platform as Casper) will be introduced as their base budget model? Or there will be no more replacements? (But then, it's like Hyundai is focusing on crossovers and SUVs now.)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. All depends on what Indonesia decides to do. If they build the Venue there, that's what we'll get, if they do the Casper, then that's what we'll get. Though what we've heard is that Hyundai is coming up with a Casper derivative for ASEAN markets.

  11. The Creta GLS could be a direct competitor of the HR-V S except that the latter has less to none leather (steering wheel, seats, etc). In addition, aside from the HR-V non turbo, it could also compete with MG ZS etc.

  12. But the Territory Titanium is more affordable yet more powerful than the Creta GLS.

  13. Uly, no static bending lights like on the Venue even for the TOTL variant? What's the curb weight on this thing, is it heavier than the Venue?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Not indicated in the spec sheet (if it has static bending lights). Curb weight is 1,165 to 1,175 kg. Updated the article with that info.

    2. It seems lighter than the HR-V

  15. I'm torn between the Creta GLS, HRV S, or the midrange Kicks. Just came fm Hyundai & the Creta GLS looks so premium. It also has rear AC vents unlike the Kicks.
