Toyota Teases All-New 2023 Innova

It’s official: Toyota is holding the global debut of the all-new Innova in November and this is your first official look.

The teaser shows the all-new 2023 Innova taking on design cues first found on popular Toyota SUV models. It wears a prominent and upright hexagonal grille and headlights with L-shaped inserts (probably for DRLs). The hood also looks to sport strong creases while the bumper itself has triangular or L-shaped housings for the fog lamps.

Toyota has just shown one teaser photo, but previous spy photos do show horizontally-oriented taillights and 10-spoke alloy wheels. Dimensionally, it is expected to be around the same size as the current model.

The teaser photo also shows blue highlights which could indicate its worst kept secret: a hybrid powertrain. Previous reports suggest that Toyota will be axing the diesel engine for the all-new Innova, and instead, will get a 2.0-liter hybrid. Moreover, there are suggestions that it will move to a front-wheel drive platform, specifically the TNGA-C platform. This should enable the three-row MPV to offer more space than ever before.

The move to a brand-new platform is also expected to unlock a much longer equipment list including Toyota Safety Sense, a sunroof, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera. At the very least, it will benefit from an updated infotainment system.

Are you excited by the all-new Innova?

  1. Yep, absolutely got up-classed. There's a rumour that Toyota will keep current Innova but only one trim, to be produced and sold along side with Innova Zenix (The reason why is the fleet market still preferred current Innova)

  2. It is Rumored that the all-new Innova Zenix will also have the Suzuki version which will be the possible replacement for the APV.

    1. That is correct. Maybe not a replacement to the APV, but yes...for Indian market this Innova will reportedly spawn a Suzuki version.

    4. Ulysses Ang Are you sure? Sa isip ko kasi gumagawa lang yan ng pekeng balita yan si UnknownPanda aka Keane Calimlim. Kaya hindi ako naniniwala sa mga sinasabi niya. (Repost with an edit from OG comment)

    5. Are we sure that Suzuki will have their own version of the new Innova? Yup. There have been some spy shots of camo-ed models being tested in India under Maruti Suzuki.

    6. Oh I see. If Maruti would rebadge the Innova under a different nameplate then it would canibalize the sales of the Ertiga and XL7 (aka the XL6 there in India) as the possible next generation Suzuki badged-Innova is also an MPV unless Maruti Suzuki rebadges the Innova as the new gen Ertiga.

  3. Diesel engine of the current generation Innova is so old now..Using a 2 liter hybrid engine for the New Innova in FWD is a great move by Toyota..Expect around 1.4 Million up to 1.8 Million Peso pricing on this one though.

  4. Tbh I'm excited with this. 7 seater MPV with larger gas hybrid engine and a new platform. I expect it's engine will be a powerful one. I think gasoline is better than diesel, since they are smoother, they have cleaner emissions and cheaper maintenance than diesel and of course diesel fuels are already expensive.

Bad time to spend on a non essential property.

  6. I hope this is a real all-new innova. Toyota has a tendency to mislead and trick buyers by saying "all-new" when in fact its just a heavy facelift. They even did that with Lexus

    1. For sure this is all-new. This is the most radical change for the Innova/Tamaraw linage since the Tamaraw's inception in 1976. I am personally not behind the switch to FWD for the Innova but definitely this is not a heavy refresh with the potential switch in drivetrain layout.

  7. Given we will see the new Innova next month, 2023 will be a very important year for Toyota's manufacturing ops in the country. Both of TMP's breadwinners will be significantly redesigned at the same time which would be a nightmare in retooling the factory. The new Vios will surely be produced here since the volume is still justifiable (plus if it won't be produced here anymore, TMP would start teasing it since we are a priority market). The Innova is an interesting story since it will completely ditch the Tamaraw's DNA by going FWD. It is possible that the current Innova will live the fate of its previous competitors by being produced until legislation kills it or TMP will push through with producing this new one here. The thing is though, Toyota is very secretive with manufacturing plans so it is a wait-and-see process. Either way, next year will be the most defining moment in Toyota's manufacturing history with both of the Vios and Innova being completely redesigned.
