Mitsubishi Motors PH Finally Ready To Launch The Outlander PHEV. Are These The Specs?

Is Mitsubishi Motors Philippines finally ready to bring back the Outlander PHEV to the local market? After being the first mainstream brand to offer a plug-in hybrid in the Philippines the form of the third-generation Outlander in 2020 (read our review), Mitsubishi thought of, but ultimately decided against launching a follow up in the form of the fourth-generation Outlander PHEV, despite receiving LTO homologation for it.

Seems second time’s the charm as Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has teased it once more for a local reveal at the Philippine International Motor Show this June 4 to 7, 2026. Unlike previous appearances of the electrified compact SUV however, the carmaker has confirmed that it “will also unveil an All-New electrified model—indicating the brand’s continued commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility solutions for the Philippine market.”

Yup, that sounds like a legit local launch to us.

It’s worth noting that the Outlander PHEV has received recognition as a Plug-In Hybrid by the Department of Energy a couple of months back.

Filed documentations reveal a single variant: the Outlander PHEV GT 2.4 AWD. This means combining a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder DOHC MIVEC engine with 133 horsepower and 195 Nm of torque and two electric motors generating 116 horsepower and 255 Nm up front, and 136 horsepower and 195 Nm of torque at the back. It also boasts of a sizeable 22.7-kWh battery which can be juiced up using a Type 2 AC charger.

The local spec Outlander PHEV GT 2.4 AWD sports 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/45R20s, ventilated disc brakes all around, LED headlights with sequential turn signal indicators, and a power tailgate with hands-free functionality.

Inside, the 5-seater SUV comes with light-gray leather trimmed seats with 8-way power adjustment with heating, ventilation, and memory for the front row, a tri-zone climate control system, camera-based smart rearview mirror with auto dimming functionality, a full digital gauge cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with an 8-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium speaker system.

The Outlander PHEV GT 2.4 AWD also sports a full complement of airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.

The Outlander PHEV GT 2.4 AWD is the focal point to Mitsubishi Motors Philippines’ booth theme which is “Premium Adventure.” The theme is a continuation of the “Forever Adventure” theme Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) used at the last Japan Mobility Show in 2025.

The brand says this reflects their commitment to empowering customers to embrace every journey with confidence, excitement and unwavering spirit of exploration. The booth experience is designed to capture Mitsubishi Motors’ adventurous DNA while showcasing how the brand continues to evolve for the future of mobility.

  2. This, together with the Nissan Xtrail are old models being dumped here locally. You can't fool Filipino buyers anymore. Those Chinese offerings gonna give these two cars a run for their money

    1. its ok it means initial flaws were already corrected. New models usually have many flaws and new car brands usually have many flaws and spare parts problems. After warranty expires for china car brands many will cry a thousand tears🥹

    2. Mitsubishi should price it right, competing with the Sealion. I think more people would choose Mitsubishi.

    3. Well, those Chinese offerings have longer warranties around x2.5 longer (8 yrs to be exact) than those Japanese with standard 3 yr warranties. And these two vehicles i'm talking about are 5 yrs & up models already, nothing to be excited about it. Such a pity for gullible buyers

    4. Considering how it is priced overseas, anything less than 2.5M is just wishful thinking. I'm expecting 2.8M+, which is very expensive for what it is. It's only advantage over the significantly cheaper Chinese counterparts would be AWD but that is not that big of an advantage compared to the more powerful and efficient powertrains from China.

    5. Anon 1:08pm Problem with these Outlander will be the price. It was priced at 3m before but with a few features removed, i'm expecting it to be priced at around 2.5m wich is still very pricy as compared to those Chinese offsrings like the Sealion 6.

    6. Longer warranty with many quality problems and with out spare parts = longer stays at the casa. After warranty expires no one will buy it, already obsolete and pricy spare parts hard to find. China’s car brands fast and furious introducing new models, you buy now with in 2 years time it’s already obsolete with no or little spare parts available.

    7. A 10 year warranty won't even matter if the company won't be around for 10 years. The only Chinese car companies I'd bet on are BYD, Geely and SAIC. The rest should consolidate... 100 new energy vehicle manufacturers is a glut.

    8. Japs and chinese xEV has same 5 years warranty on vehicle and 8 years warranty for the battery

    9. Anon 1:04am Correction:
BYD has a 6 yrs general warranty + 8 yr battery warranty
Cherry has a 7 yr bumper to bumper warranty plus 3 yr free PMS

I'm not sure with other Chinese offerings.

  3. I hope PH gets a 5-seater instead of the 7-seater overseas so that instead of the third row, we might fit a spare tire instead.

  4. Are those the confirmed specs coming to the Philippines? Seems like only a mid-spec model of other countries. No brown interior, no 12-speaker Yamaha Ultimate system (one of the best in the entire industry), 8 way seats instead of 10 way, etc.

    1. Those are the specs that Mitsubishi filed with the government for homologation. They may change, but we feel like more or less, this is it.

    2. For context, the geely ex5 makes a whopping 51km/li tested.
