2027 Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum Approved For Philippine Launch

Ford Philippines is poised to add a third variant to its best-selling Territory Hybrid this August. This based on homologation papers the carmaker has filed with both the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

Already the Philippines’ best-selling hybrid SUV, a new 2027 Territory Hybrid Platinum joins the current Trend and Titanium X variants.

Based on Ford’s own filings, the changes are aesthetic with the Platinum variant receiving new front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels (same 19-inch size though), and raised-type roof rails. Inside, it could benefit from a new interior colorway that’s predominantly black with orange accents.

Mechanically, the Territory Hybrid Platinum will share the same underpinnings as the Titanium X and Trend variants. This means a 1.5-liter dedicated hybrid engine mated to a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and a 1.83-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The engine itself generates a healthy 150 horsepower (110 kW) and 230 Nm, while the electric motor provides 218 horsepower (150 kW) and 315 Nm. All in all, Ford is confident of a 0 to 100 km/h time of 8.5 seconds and a range not lower than 1,000 kilometers thanks to its 60-liter tank (more on the powertrain here).

The Territory Hybrid already starts at P 1,399,000 for the Trend and P 1,599,000 for the Titanium X. This new Platinum Hybrid variant could send pricing for the compact SUV above the P 1.6-million mark, probably settling in for around P 1.63-million.

  1. How true are the stories of this model suddenly stopping middrive?

    1. Issue was blown out of proportion by uninformed people. Problem was linked to a unit that didn't get a proper software update before it was released.

    2. 1st generation and 2nd generation here also have that problem

    3. Meaning Ford released a unit without the proper software? Scary.

  2. It's cheaper because it's made in China

  3. Does hybrid really make any sense? Maintenance wise and long term usage will it be cheap or expensive?

    1. hybrid is the sweet spot for PH market

PHEV doesnt make sense since there is not infrastructure ready for it and the bigger battery makes the car more inefficient
