Pope Francis Just Received a 602-Horsepower Popemobile

God bless this Lamborghini. Seems Pope Francis is continuing his charitable ways after receiving this one-of-a-kind Huracán RWD supercar.

The one-off Huracán reflects the flag of Vatican City. The wedgy coupe was realized by Lamborghini’s customization division, “Ad Personam.” It’s finished in Bianco Monocerus (Monocerus White) with Giallo Tiberino (Tiberino Yellow) stripes decorating the car’s silhouette.

While it’s probably cool to see Pope Francis see driving around the Vatican in this 602-horsepower supercar, this 2-seater won’t be joining the pontiff’s fleet of Popemobiles. Instead, this 5.2-liter V10 exotic will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s next year with all proceeds donated by the Holy Father to several charitable institutions.

These charitable causes are: the reconstruction of villages on the Nineveh Plain in Iraq via the Pontifical Foundation “Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre” (Aid to the Church in Need); helping victims of human trafficking and other abuses under the Pope John XIII Community, and finally, supporting missionary work in Africa through two Italian associations: GICAM and “Amici per il Centrafrica” (Friends for Central Africa).

The turnover was witnessed by Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali as well as other board members and two employees who helped build the car.

With the Lamborghini Huracán RWD starting at US$ 200,000 (~ P 10,145,000), expect the blessing and signature of Pope Francis to bump the prices even higher.

  1. Not sure if this old man can still handle a whiplash from this 600hp wheels. Good thing it went to charity and avoided a neck fracture
