The Ford Troller T4 is an Extremely Off-Road Capable SUV

While the world awaits the 2020 Ford Bronco, to tide you over, here’s the closest thing we have at the moment: the Troller T4.

Built by Troller Veículos Especiais S/A, a Brazilian off-road vehicle manufacturer, now a subsidiary of Ford, the Troller T4 is pretty much how you’d image a Ford-ified Jeep Wrangler to be.

It rides on a space frame with an internal tubular structure and a composite fiberglass body on top. It shares its running gear with the Ranger T6 though down to its platform (albeit shortened), 3.2-liter Duratorq inline-5, and 6-speed manual transmission. Unlike the Ranger though, the Troller T4 gets a Dana rigid front axle. Approach and departure angle is an impressive 51 degrees.

Style-wise, it’s a close facsimile of the Jeep Wrangler with its boxy, upright lines and rear door-mounted spare tire. Inside, the Troller combines some Ranger bits like the gauge cluster, air conditioning vents, electricals along with some unique ones (likely the poorly fitting glovebox, sadly).

Oh, and in case you wanted to know, the Troller T4 is priced at around Brazilian R$ 133,706.00 or about P 1.87 million. So far, the Troller T4 is only sold in Brazil. However, given how the EcoSport successfully made it out of there and into a truly global product, here is hoping Ford will do the same with this one.

You can check the full specs or you can watch how Troller T4 owners have fun at the Troller Brazil Festival which happen to attract 180 cars and 500 participants in one “great off-road party.”
