Nissan Adds Style, Drops Manual In 2022 Urvan

The Nissan Urvan is once again getting a refresh for 2022, at least for its home market in Japan. This is the second time Nissan’s commercial van’s been tweaked since the current-generation’s launch way back in 2015.

Once again, the updates are fairly minor. For 2022, Nissan has given it a new front grille and front bumper which makes it look more “dynamic and powerful.” Eight new exterior colors have been added including the Navara PRO-4X’s Stealth Gray.

Inside, the 2022 Urvan adds a 5-inch TFT multi-function display, a new D-shaped steering wheel, and Zero Gravity seats. Furthermore, the steering wheel, seatbacks, and cushions have been treated with an anti-bac treatment.

In terms of safety, Nissan has added not just autonomous emergency braking (Intelligent Emergency Brake) but also a 360-degree camera and a camera-based rear-view mirror.

Mechanically, the 2022 Urvan remains the same, but for the Japan market, Nissan has opted to discontinue the manual transmission option in favor of a 7-speed automatic across the line-up.
