Ford Territory Is Still Selling Well In The Philippines, Corners 52 Percent Of Small SUV Segment

After two years since its launch in the Philippines in August 2020, the Ford Territory remains one of Ford Philippines’ top-selling vehicles and one of the best-selling SUVs in the market.

The Ford Territory delivered strong sales in the first half of 2022 with 3,691 units sold, an increase of 11 percent from previous year, cornering a 52 percent market share in the small SUV segment.

It also posted in June its best-ever retail month performance since its launch with 1,574 units sold, which is almost thrice the volume sold in the same month last year.

“We are delighted to see that the Ford Territory has maintained its appeal to Filipino SUV customers two years since it was launched,” said Mike Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines. “The Ford Territory remains one of our most important vehicles in the Ford lineup and we are excited to sustain its success for the remainder of the year.”

The Ford Territory reached its 10,000th customer milestone earlier this year, and is poised to hit the 15,000th sales milestone before the end of 2022.

Ford attributes the success of the Territory not just on its tech (it comes with a 360-degree camera, blind spot information system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), but it also has a once-a-year scheduled service interval.

Currently, the Ford Territory is available in all Ford dealerships nationwide with a free 3-year scheduled service plan (SSP) for a worry-free ownership experience.

  1. I still do not trust Chinese designed vehicles.

  2. quick buck scheme of Ford. Wala ka na nakikitang Fiesta, Focus at Ecosport sa daan because they are not really reliable. Most likely between 2025-2027 junk na lahat yang mga Territory na yan.

    2. Ford Territory uses a turbocharged Mitsubishi engine and a durable CVT..It'll last longer for sure.

    3. "Mitsubishi Engine" lol dont drag mitsubishi's name sa sasakyan na to, wala naman akong mahanap na details regarding sa mga claims mo

    4. As far as I can tell, the only similarity with the Territory's engine with the Mitsubishi 4G15 is the name (4G15). Other than that, the bore-stroke ratio is very different, indicating that the JMC-Ford engine block is a massively different design. It *could* be based on the Mitsu engine (I doubt), but JMC-Ford has already changed way too much for it to be called a Mitsubishi engine.

  3. The Equator Sport-based Territory will be launched here in the PH by first half of 2023 and the current Territory will get a Facelift and it will be rebranded into second-generation EcoSport...

    1. I doubt that..FGP will continue to sell the current Ford Territory as its already a best seller and its cheaper.
Equator Sport based 2023 Ford Territory is more expensive (1.5 Million to 1.6 Million Peso expected price tag) that's why FGP is still not yet ready to sell it in the local market

    2. We might see that the current Territory in the Chinese market might discontinue by 2024 or 2025 I guess so it is safe to say that the Equator Sport based Territory will be priced I think from 1.4 to 1.5 million pesos so they can likely launch it after Michael Breen's end of term.

  4. What are the common complaints against the Territory?
I remember Uly that in your review, you did not like the Territory..

    1. Yes, I don't like it. It doesn't have that "Ford DNA" that you can touch, feel, experience in their other vehicles. This felt like a cash grab opportunity. Sure, it's selling well. But I feel it's for people who treat their cars as appliances--Point A to Point B transport. For people who know cars, they'd steer away from this.

    2. As for common complaints, I'd leave that topic to an actual owner.

  5. Lots of commenters here still hating after 2 years of its launch while Ford PH just laughs it off all the way to the bank with its sales figures.

Other brands needs to copy the secret sauce of this territory so they can get some piece of the pie too.

  6. I also dont have a good opinion of Ford. But to be fair about durability claims, would be good to have LTO registration records to shown how many models were registered now vs 10 years before. After all, there is barely any toyota big body around.

  7. Good for Ford, I guess. I'm not a Ford guy and I prefer Sedans, and since Ford doesn't sell them here anymore I guess I'm doubly repelled from Ford.

  8. Kuchi 888 If the Equator Sport based-Territory will be launched on 2025 or 2026, then it's too late. It will cause Sales decline because at that time, there are lots of Chinese Electric Crossovers for the mass-market audience and European Electric Crossovers for the luxury audience gaining popularity by that time thanks to the recently-signed EVIDA Law. And don't forget the Mild Hybrid, Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid from Japanese and Korean manufacturers, so don't wish that the Equator Sport will arrive here 5-6 years after it was Launch in China and Kuchi 888, don't you dare to do predictions which is naturally uncertain, do you Understand?

  9. Selling like hotcakes for the people that doesn't do research before buying a car,

This was one of my top choices too nung namimili pa kami ng sasakyan a few months ago, but after doing research (wiki, fb groups, chinese websites) I was disappointed. sa FB groups na madaming actual owners ang daming issues.

Much better choice would be chery tiggo or changan atleast honest pa sila sa roots nila and same quality and performance lang din.

    1. Correct po kayo dyan also kung ayaw nyo sa Chinese Cars, choose Hyundai or Kia since Korean Cars are advanced in tech lalo na yung new distributor ng Hyundai PH ang specs nila ay katumbas na ng kung anong meron sa Indonesia or Korea.

    2. same, not that i was planning to buy one anyway but it was perfect the first time i saw one on the road. the looks was stunning and the size was perfect for where i live and when i saw the brochure i was amazed on the features they were able to squeeze with that price. but then again desire quickly turns into disgust just after a few research

    3. A friend was planning to buy one. So I sent him the link to Uly's review of the Territory. Now he's buying an HRV instead 😂

  10. Any car manufacturer with ISO's, AIs and SIGMA certifications can make a descent car.
Hence, most chinese brands have these. And they can sell it cheaper with tons of features. Japanese brands are actually copying them now, specially in interiors and infotainments..
