Lexus PH Gives UX Subcompact SUV Standard Hybrid Power For 2023

Lexus Philippines is now offering its UX sub-compact crossover with standard hybrid powertrain for 2023. Known as the gateway into the Lexus brand, the UX 250h brings together sustainable performance with the Japanese premium carmaker’s penchant for offering refinement, comfort, and craftsmanship.

For 2023, the Lexus UX comes in two flavors: the UX 250h Premier (P 3,058,000) and the UX 250h F Sport (P 3,798,000).

As its badge suggests, both these models are equipped with the same powertrain—a Lexus self-charging hybrid that combines a high-compression (14:1) 2.0-liter gasoline with VVTi-E with two electric transaxle motors and compact nickel-hydride (NiMH) battery mounted below the rear seat. All in all, it delivers 184 horsepower and 188 Nm of torque for a smooth, natural, and responsive driving experience. This is then mated to a CVT gearbox with pre-programmed shift points.

The UX 250h F Sport also adds Lexus Safety Sense (LSS) as standard. This suite of active safety technologies support the driver and reduces the risk and severity of a range of potential accidents. It includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System (PCS) with pedestrian detection, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Alert and Steering Assist, Lane Trace Assist and Intelligent High-Beam headlamps or Adaptive High-beam System (AHS).

Other notable features found on the UX 250h F Sport variant are adaptive variable suspension; an 8-inch multi-information display; paddle shifters behind the steering wheel; and interior and exterior trim pieces that are exclusive to this variant.

Meanwhile, both variants are equipped with LED headlamps, DRLs, and taillamps; voice recognition; power rear hatch with kick sensor; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; and a 10-speaker audio system. Hill-Start Assist (HSA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC); and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) also come standard.

The new Lexus UX comes with added peace of mind thanks to an 8-year HEV battery warranty. It also comes standard with a 3 year / 100,000-kilometer warranty.

  1. I believe the UX has a combined power rating of 181 hp. 145 hp is just for the ICE alone.

    1. Yes. The power output was indicated on their official website. We brought the matter to Lexus PH and yes, they did confirm that the power output (combined) is 184 PS. We've corrected the story to reflect that.
