Like the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 swept the 2023 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Electric Car of the Year. It was recognized by the international panel for its streamlined silhouette combined with outstanding performance.

Both the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 share the same design DNA but have their own unique typology with the Ioniq 6 going for “Sporty and Sleek.” The exterior shows off the brand’s signature 3D parametric pixel lights complimented by glass-like, transparent textures. Stepping inside, the cabin has been shaped like a cocoon for a cozier feeling. Despite this, manages to still be class-leading in terms of passenger comfort and cargo space because of its long wheelbase. At the driver seat, mindful, interactive features have been incorporated through the integrated digital cluster and infotainment screen and action-sensitive ambient lights.

Built on the same E-GMP platform as the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 supports both 400-volt and 800-volt fast charging capabilities as well as the brand’s proprietary driver-assistance system including Remote Smart Parking and Highway Driving Assist.

HMPH hasn’t revealed the local specification, but based on global specs, its battery is sized either at 53-kWh or 77.4-kWh.

When paired with the dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain, it makes 325 horsepower and 605 Nm, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h of 5.1 seconds. In the single motor versions, the standard range variant makes 149 horsepower, while the long-range variant does 225 horsepower. In both cases, the rear wheels provide tractive power. Range is capped off at an impressive 545 kilometers thanks in part to the Ioniq 6’s ultra-slippery 0.21 co-efficient of drag.

HMPH says the Ioniq 6 will be priced at around P 4-million. With the Ioniq 5 already on retail for P 3.068 million for the 2WD Standard Range and P 3.698 million for the 2WD Long Range, this signals that the Ioniq 6 will be positioned as the flagship of Hyundai’s local EV range either offering more performance or standard features.

Either way, HMPH has confirmed that the Ioniq 6, like the Ioniq 5, will come with a 5-year or 200,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, 8-year or 160,000-kilometer battery warranty and free Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) for 5 years or 75,000-km, whichever comes first. The installation of a 7.4KWh AC wall charger also comes standard with every purchase.

Furthering the peace of mind among EV owners, HMPH will soon launch a Vehicle-to-Vehicle or V2V Service wherein the Ioniq 5 will be utilized for mobile charging. Similar to a roadside emergency assistance, there will be a hotline that Filipino customers can call for assistance. It will first be rolled in the National Capital Region (NCR) with the charging process taking as little as 4 minutes to produce 7 kWh or about 20 to 30 kilometers of extra range.
