The 3-Row Jaecoo 8 Will Be Shown At The Manila International Auto Show

Omoda & Jaecoo is set to bring a fourth vehicle at the Manila International Auto Show. Aside from the previously announced Omoda 5, Omoda 5 EV, and Jaecoo 7, the brand has confirmed that it will be showcasing the mid-sized Jaecoo 8 as well.

Shown globally first just last October at the Geneva International Motor Show, the Jaecoo 8 is its largest model yet measuring 4,820 mm in length and 1,930 mm in width (wheelbase is at 2,820 mm). Powering it is a standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 249 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque paired to a Getrag 7-speed dual clutch automatic.

Beyond mere grunt, the Jaecoo 8 packs the brand’s ARDIS or All Road Drive Intelligent System. This gives it the capability to split available torque from zero to 100 percent in real time. It has seven driving modes which changes the characteristics of its steering, engine, transmission, all-wheel drive, and even braking (it uses brake-by-wire tech) to suit various terrain such as sand, mud, or snow. Finally, electronically-controlled dampers help enhance the riding comfort.

The three-row SUV boasts of “King Size” sofa seats covered in nappa leather, a suede headliner, a 24.6-inch curved display screen, a 255-color “waterfall-style rhythm” ambient lighting, and a 14-speaker Sony sound system.

The Jaecoo 8 puts safety in high priority with the body structure itself made of 85 percent high-strength steel. Furthermore, it has 10 SRS airbags, a 540-degree camera, and a promised 5-star global safety rating.

The Jaecoo 8 will be shown at the Omoda & Jaecoo located at the SMX Convention Center from April 4 to 7.
