The 2026 MG G50 PHEV Is A 299-Horsepower 7-Seater MPV Priced At Just P 1.398M (w/ Specs)

MG Philippines is opening reservations of its first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle—the MG G50 PHEV. Positioned as a more powerful, yet fuel-efficient evolution of MG’s popular MPV, the G50 PHEV starts at just P 1,398,888 with retail sales to commence soon.

Powering the G50 PHEV is a 1.5-liter PHEV powertrain paired with a new Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The combustion engine itself produces 95 horsepower, but it’s further augmented by a 218 horsepower permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. All in all, it makes a peak 299 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.

With an 18.65 kWh LFP battery, the G50 PHEV can go up to 95 kilometers (UNR101), while a 60-liter tank further boosts that to 1,415 kilometers (UNR101). Charging is done via Type 2 AC where it takes 2.8 hours (6.6 kW maximum rate). It also has a Vehicle-to-Load function.

The G50 PHEV has a newly designed dashboard with dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. The spacious cabin has second row captain seats and three-seater third row. A 6-way power driver’s seat, 4-way power front passenger seat, synthetic leather seating, automatic climate control with rear vents, and panoramic sunroof enhances the in-cabin experience. Meanwhile, exterior highlights include a bold, modern design as well as LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55R17 tires.

The MG G50 PHEV will be available in Pearl White, Andes Gray, and Pearl Black.

The already affordable price of P 1,398,888 gets even more accessible with an exclusive reservation promo. Customers can secure their unit with a minimum reservation fee of just P 1,000 and receive a free 7 kW wall charger upon vehicle release. In addition, an instant P 10,000 discount will apply, with a further P 10,000 discount for every month of waiting should unit availability be delayed.

  1. Is there an 8 seater configuration option like the ICE G50 models?

    1. Yes, 8 seater better for some like me )

  2. This should give Bob Palanca, the Zobel scion, and the rest of ACMobility a fright. This will take a lot of sales from the BYD eMax 7. Many in this segment tend to play it safe and prefer a hybrid over an EV.

Note that this G50 PHEV has very little, if any, ADAS.

Lacking such is not "loaded" where many potential end-users
      are concerned

Safety is a priority for most of motorists, so a comprehensive ADAS is worth from P200K-P250K.

  5. How reliable are MG made Hybrids?

  6. Wait until the buyers realize that the MG50 PHEV they now own has very little ADAS & Safety features.

No AEB, BSM, Rear Cross traffic Alert/Brake, etc.

Then again, the price point, and not the safety of the vehicle may be the owners priority.

P1.4M is still P1.4M so we all have to know everything about the "bargain" we are buying.
