Hyundai’s high-performance N division has proven once again it has what it takes to beat the rest of the world. After scooping up the World Performance Car of the Year with the Ioniq 5 N in 2024, its sibling, the Ioniq 6 N has done the same just two years later.
“This recognition from the World Car Awards jury means a great deal to the thousands of people at Hyundai who designed, engineered, and built this vehicle. Customers appreciate great design, advanced technology, and real-world value that the Ioniq 6 N offers. We are grateful to the jury for this honor. And we are grateful to the customers around the world who choose Hyundai every day and inspire everything we build. This award belongs to them and to the team that earned it,” José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.
The Ioniq 6 N beat out the two other finalists, the BMW M2 CS and the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray to win the award.
The Ioniq 6 N triumphed in the World Performance Car category by redefining high-performance for the electric era. It combines thrilling power with sophisticated, driver-focused technology for both track and road.
With 650 horsepower, the Ioniq 6 N goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. More than just that, it offers driver-focused features such as N e-Shift that provides the feel of a real gearshift, N Active Sound+ that delivers an engaging sound experience. And to meet the demands of prolonged high-performance driving, the Ioniq 6 N has a revamped battery management system for its 84-kWh battery optimizing its temperature making sure it’s always ready to perform.
The win of the Ioniq 6 N marks the fifth consecutive year Hyundai has been recognized at the World Car Awards following the Inster (2025 World Electric Vehicle), Ioniq 5 N (2024 World Performance Car), Ioniq 6 (2023 World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, World Car Design of the Year), and the Ioniq 5 (2022 World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, World Car Design of the Year).

I thought the Ioniq 6 has already been discontinued, at least in north America.
