With the notable exception of BYD and Chevrolet, almost every major carmaker is now part of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA). Now representing 80 to 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the country, it gives the public a better picture of which brands and segments are selling (and which ones aren’t).
This brings us to the latest industry report for April 2026. We already reported on the industry ranking and all so check that story out, but now is the time to dig into which brands did well and which ones didn’t.
With gas prices as high as they are, it’s very clear that brands that don’t offer or offer very limited electrified offerings were the most affected, sales-wise. More than that, a reflection of weakened business confidence also shows that segments which were traditionally shielded from gas prices such as trucks, have seen sales drop this month too. Out of all CAMPI-TMA members, only 9 brands showed either flat or positive growth. Looking into each brand, this is how they performed in April 2026 versus March 2026.

Trump Middle East war makes EV’s sales great worldwide
ReplyDeleteNot one Ioniq model sold?
ReplyDeleteEver since the update, Hyundai made the Ioniq models available only via indent order...so even if customers placed an order last April, it won't arrive until June or July.
DeleteSubstantial drop for Mitsubishi. For the first time in many years they will a competition for the no. 2 spot in terms of sales this year.
ReplyDeleteMitsubishi and Honda should adapt and adapt fast or perish. Nissan with the help of Nissan China is adapting very fast and now doing well. If you can’t beat them join them and beat them later in their own games. Nissan made in china NEV’s selling well in china.
DeleteHi BYD!
Deleteall BEV + PHEV + hybrid non toyotas combined is just 100+ more than toyota hybrids sold.
ReplyDeleteTesla is not a member?
ReplyDeleteYes is a CAMPI member.
Delete0% means they sold the same as march or didnt sell anything at all?
ReplyDeleteZero growth. So either they sold nothing, or sold the exact same out of vehicles for those two months.
DeleteBuy more chinese and support all data to china
ReplyDeleteall your driving data/information will be sent to china
ever wonder why they have esim in their car
CCP Forever~
Check where your phone was made. Look at the brand of your home wifi router. Using cars to get the same data is like the most convoluted way to do it.
DeleteYour initial argument is lazy and totally disingenuous. Manufactured in China is different from Chinese-branded products. Don't twist the two.
DeleteThe discussion was about how China can get/look at your data. What brand routers does PLDT by default give and advertise to you? You use public wifi without VPNs? I bet you do. Check the brands used in all our cell towers. I'll bet they're all ZTE or a similar brand. Learn what a man-in-the-middle attack is. All made in China tech is looked at suspiciously by intelligence agencies so go tell them it's no big deal. How's that for lazy?
DeleteYour initial comment was about where a phone’s country of manufacture is. An iPhone made in China under Apple’s direct supervision is totally different from a phone manufactured in China by a Chinese company. Hence, your initial argument was completely lazy.
DeleteAn utter display of lack of reading comprehension. Also, ignoring the points raised in the reply doesn't make their validity go away.
DeleteYour misinterpretation of 'Check where your phone was made.' makes the point of your correction rather ironic.
I took a gamble to assume the chances of the brand of the commenters phone but did I mention iPhones? How would I know if they were using an iPhone? Look at the market share of brands in the Philippines. iPhones account for less than 10% of all phones so I have a 90% chance at guessing it's not an iPhone. Chinese brands hold around 80% of the Philippine smartphone market.
The logic in your replies is... underwhelming. Maybe put a little more thought into them next time. 😏
You admitted to making assumptions. You asked a rhetorical question, I gave you an answer you didn’t account for. If only your thinking is as active as your typing. Your know-it-all, I’m-always-right disposition, your argumentative nature, and your constant use of emojis all show how infantile you are.
DeleteConstant use of emojis? Bro, there's just the one emoji in this entire comments section. lol
DeleteThe rest of your comment is basically just personal attacks.
Your attempt to appear to care about the point/validity of the argument isn't very convincing.
Is making assumptions inherently bad or wrong? I gave you the breakdown of the marketshare in the Philippines and that there's an 80% chance that the original commenter owns a Chinese branded phone and you didn't even bother to debunk my specific assumption which I supported with data and numbers.
Your focus on personal labels, your fabrication of the number of emojis I used, and general avoidance of the actual point of the discussion (ways China can collect your data) makes YOU the disingenuous one here.
