Mitsubishi Refreshes Mirage G4 Looks, Improves Safety For 2027

The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 (aka Attrage in Thailand) lives on, receiving its third major refresh since its launch way back in 2013.

The most notable change is found outside where the Dynamic Shield face has been reinterpreted with more gloss black elements and a hexagonal grille with mesh inserts. The rest look unchanged from its last major update which the Philippines got just last year.

In terms of interior kit, the Mirage G4 does get more stuff for this update. For example, it gets a dedicated door lock/unlock switch and an auto dimming rearview mirror. This goes hand-in-hand with a new high-contrast combination meter and the availability of synthetic leather seats.

The biggest news is more safety equipment. While it keeps the same dual SRS airbag setup, the Mirage G4 does get urban-centric ADAS functionalities such as forward collision mitigation (FCM), forward collision warning (FCW), radar-sensing misacceleration mitigation (RMS-Forward), and lane departure warning (LCW). This is on top of ABS with EBD and vehicle stability control with hill start assist.

Mechanically, the Mirage G4 keeps the same 1.2-liter 3-cylinder 3A92 as before. It still delivers 78 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque—the same as before—but has been uprated to Euro 6 standards that includes an idle start-stop system. For this update, Mitsubishi has also dropped the manual in favor of the CVT gearbox which should help it achieve up to 23.3 km/L.

As for colors, the Mirage G4 in Thailand comes only in three shades: White Diamond, Graphite Gray, and Jet Black Mica.

  1. Would have been better if Mitsubishi had left the Mirage G4's exterior styling well alone because that new front end looks worse than ever.

  2. Mitsu keeps updating this car in the wrong places. Its always cosmetics this car. Whats needed here is a new platform, new engine, bigger body and longer wheelbase. Heck , even a base model china car dwarfs this car in size, looks and power. And in price too!

  4. So, they fail to make this car good again. The engine is still the same low-power crappy engine, and by ditching the manual, it's still as slow as ever (plus chugs more gas due to it being an auto/CVT). Not only that, for the RHD versions, the 12v plug is on the wrong side, and the head unit is designed for LHD in mind. But sure, let's include auto start-stop that should've been in the car since 2018, and use the exact same engine that makes this car a joke. Mitsubishi is out of touch. Not only that, parts are severely expensive to where I have to import them from Thailand and the Philippines. It's hard being a US owner for one of these shit boxes.
