Xpeng is yet to open a physical dealership (or even establish a presence for that matter) in the Philippines, but if it’s alright with you to communicate with Xpeng Philippines directly via Facebook or Instagram DM, then you’d be surprised to know that reservations for the X9 luxury MPV is now open.
Without pricing, warranty coverage, or even delivery details available as of yet, the first batch of Xpeng X9 can be reserved for just P 25,000. Once the unit has been delivered, owners will get to receive P 10,000 in EV charging credits and an Xpeng First Circle Gift Set (worth a total of P 100,000).
According to its official website, Xpeng will have at least four retail locations located in:
- Makati (2245 Chino Roces Avenue)
- Quezon City (1005 EDSA, Quezon City)
- San Juan (1008 EDSA, Greenhills)
- Mandaue City (Quano Avenue North Reclamation Area)
At least three of these dealers are identifiable with Makati being run by Dangdang New Energy Auto Service (based on email), San Juan run by Inchcape (based on its address), and Mandaue City run by the Gateway Group (based on email).
To whet appetites, Xpeng Philippines has revealed the X9’s major specifications ahead of its brand launch later this month.
The X9 is set apart from other large MPVs with its futuristic starship design. The sharp angular lines and streamlined styling help give it an impressively low 0.236 co-efficient of drag.
For the Philippine market, the Xpeng X9 comes with one powertrain and it’s full electric. The front-mounted electric motor produces 319 horsepower (235 kW) and 450 Nm of torque allowing a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 7.5 seconds. A 110 kWh NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) battery provides up to 615 kilometers of range while a 6kW V2L allows it to power small appliances during outdoor activities or even blackouts.
Built on an 800-volt architecture, the X9 accommodates ultra-fast charging speeds (up to 542 kW DC charging) helping it charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 12 minutes. When using an AC charger, it maxes out at 11 kW taking 11 hours for a 5 to 100 percent charge.
Measuring in at 5,316 mm long, 1,988 mm wide, and 1,785 mm tall (wheelbase is 3,160 mm), the X9 is huge. However, thanks to its active rear-wheel steering system, turning radius is quite compact at just 5.4 meters—similar to a sub-5-meter compact SUV. It also boasts of a dual chamber air suspension system helping it achieve both stability and comfort. The ride height is also adjustable between 100 to 190 mm. Using its multitude of sensors and cameras, the AI chassis system also scans the road ahead and prepares the suspension response in real time. In the case of a tire blow out, a blowout stability function helps maintain a stable course following a sudden loss of tire pressure.
Inside, the Xpeng X9 has a continuous flat, step-free interior with a 180 mm central aisle and one-touch easy entry into the third row. The cargo compartment has a sunken luggage floor allowing it accommodate up to seven suitcases. When not in use, the third row itself folds down into the floor electronically creating a full-flat cargo hold. Luggage capacity begins at 721 liters with all seven seats upright and can expand to as much as 2,554 liters with the third row stowed.
The X9 also features full-grain Nappa leather seats with 12-way power adjustment with heating, ventilation, and massaging function for the front passengers. The second row meanwhile has 14 ways of electronic adjustment, heating, ventilation, and a ten-point massager. It also has powered leg supports and converts into a zero-gravity position with just one button press.
Across the second and third rows, the X9 uses 6,000 micro air outlets to distribute airflow in lieu of traditional vents to help maintain cabin temperature without directing a strong stream of air at passengers.
Other amenities include folding tables, wireless phone charging, powered soft-closing front doors, and an integrated refrigerator that can keep drinks cold or warm food and beverages during longer journeys.
The X9 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset for its Xmart OS. It supports smooth multi-tasking when it comes to navigation, entertainment, and other apps. The infotainment itself is anchored on a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, while the driver has a 21-inch windshield-projected heads-up display. A 21.4-inch rear entertainment display is also standard as is a 1,552-watt 27-speaker Xopera audio system.
In terms of safety, the X9’s three-millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 12 cameras provide OTA-updatable self-driving features. Right off the bat, it comes with adaptive cruise control, lane centering control, adaptive turning, enhanced auto parking, auto exit parking assist, remote parking assist, remote vehicle summon, and reversing assistant. This is on top of 16 other usual ADAS features.

Whether Tesla, Zeeker, Omoda, etc. , NCM batteries are a bad idea for daily usage
