Kia PH President Says 2019 Sales Wasn't a Fluke
In their first full year as the distributors of Kia, AC Motors, a wholly-owned company of Ayala Corporation saw its sales rise to 5,019 units compared to 2,238 units in 2018. The 124 percent increase is, undoubtedly, spectacular, but still a far cry from the projected 10,000-unit per annum sales they mentioned at the start of 2019.

Review: 2019 Kia Sportage GT-Line Diesel
Filipino car buyers are a cruel, finicky bunch. When Kia’s then distributor launched the fourth-generation Sportage in 2016, they brought along a well-loaded GT-Line trim equipped with a diesel engine and all-wheel drive. It sure had all the ingredients for success until everyone saw the price tag: P 1.795 million. After that, the complaints all rolled in: too expensive, ill-equipped, etc. Well, here’s news for you: three years later, the refreshed Sportage is out. Now sold by Kia’s new distributor, guess what? It’s actually more expensive, and that’s not even considering it’s lost all-wheel drive in the process.

2019 Kia Forte GT vs 2019 Honda Civic RS Turbo
There is no greater cynic than a Honda Civic fanboy. Whether that has to do with the cult following of the 1990s Civic SiR, or because they happen to be better keyboard warriors is a debate best left for another day, but the fact of the matter is: they’ll defend their beloved compact, maybe to the death.

First Drive: 2020 Kia Seltos 1.6 T-GDi
Samgyupsal. Black Pink. Finger hearts. Korean pop culture has invaded the Philippines in a very big way. So, it’s a surprise that their cars haven’t done the same. Though they’ve made in-roads in some segments—small budget cars and people movers to name two, they’re not household names yet. In life, changes happen in small, baby steps; once in a while though, a giant leap happens. For Kia, the Seltos is one of those times.
