Not to be confused with the recently-launched Mustang Mach-E, Ford is announcing that the Mustang Mach 1 is coming back to life with a debut sometime in the next few months.
For the uninitiated, the Mustang Mach 1 is the top-dog 5.0-liter V8 variant. The badge debuted back in 1969, and saw improvements over the standard GT. It was more attainable than the Shelby or Boss variants, too. More recently, the Mach 1 returned in 2003 with unique handling upgrades and more powerful brakes. It also sported a matte black spoiler and hood stripe.
With the 2021 model, Ford promises that the new Mustang Mach 1 will be the “most track-ready 5.0-liter Mustang ever.”
