Japan Automotive Hall Of Fame Chose The 2022 Honda HR-V As Its Design Of The Year

The all-new 2022 Honda Vezel (aka HR-V) seems to be striking the right chord when it comes to design. Honda’s new compact crossover bagged the 2021-2022 Japan Automotive Hall of Fame Design of the Year.

Not to be mistaken for the Japan Car of the Year which is done primarily by journalists, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame or JAHFA is a registered non-profit organization based at the National Museum of Nature and Science. JAHFA aims to inspire the next-generation by informing people of outstanding achievements made over the years by Japanese carmakers and their personnel.

The Vezel, or if you prefer its global name, the HR-V was chosen for emphasizing the importance of improving the quality of daily life. JAHFA noted its strong horizontal motif that runs from the front to the back as well as its body-colored grille design. It’s also notable for its “sleek and long cabin” that not only emphasized its coupe-like proportions, but also gave it a spacious interior along with its flexible seating layout.

The all-new Honda HR-V was just recently launched in Thailand for the ASEAN market. It’s likely that it will join the Honda Cars Philippine line-up sometime next year.
