Subaru XV GT Edition Returns For 2022 With P 2M Price Tag

Well, that didn’t take too long. About six months after the arrival of the refreshed Subaru XV, its sportier looking (emphasis on looking) counterpart is back. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the 2022 Subaru XV GT Edition.

The Subaru XV GT Edition needs little introduction. It was launched in 2019 as a look-fast version of Subaru’s compact crossover. The body kit itself was designed by former Subaru Head of Global Advanced Design Studio, Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi—the same guy responsible for a lot of Subaru’s hit models.

Anyhow, the 2022 Subaru XV GT Edition continues where the previous version left off. That means it gets the following new features:
  • Front Under Spoiler
  • Front Bumper Garnish
  • Rear Under Spoiler
  • Side Skirts
  • Roof Spoiler
  • GT Edition 18-inch Wheels
  • Combination Black/White Touring Leather Seats
If you’re keeping track, they’re all aesthetic improvements, because that’s pretty much how you’d sum up the GT Edition models anyhow, aesthetic.

With that, it keeps the same 2.0-liter FB20 flat-4 making 156 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque, mated to a Lineartronic CVT and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It’s worth noting that like the non-GT Edition Subaru XV, it now gets a dual X-MODE system for enhanced off-road capability.

For safety, it gets Subaru EyeSight, the brand’s suite of advanced driver aids. Using a pair of stereoscopic cameras, it bundles adaptive cruise control, lane sway/departure warning, forward collision mitigation, lead vehicle start assist, and pre-collision throttle management. It also gets speed-sensing door locks, a 360-degree camera, and auto tilting door mirrors when reversing.

If you’re curious as to how much these aesthetic changes costs, well, the Subaru XV GT Edition sets you back P 2.008 million—that’s a P 100,000 premium over the Subaru XV 2.0i-S EyeSight. If that sounds a bit too much for a compact crossover, don’t worry. As an introductory offer, Subaru’s cutting the prices by P 210,000, meaning you only have to fork out P 1,798,000 for this new variant.

  2. Classic Subaru PH, high SRP then high discounts. Doesn't make sense, just price it normally without overinflating the SRP.
