You Can Buy Fernando Alonso's Ferrrari Enzo For More Than P 301M

Two-time Formula One World Champion and current Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso is auctioning off his exquisite Ferrari Enzo, a sign perhaps that he wants to do away with any connection with the team in scarlet?

Widely considered to be the hypercar that defined the breed, the Enzo’s bold design, legendary performance, and stunning engine note made the car an instant icon. Following in the footsteps of the prized Ferrari 288 GTO, F40 and F50, the Enzo utilized a carbon fiber and Nomex honeycomb monocoque chassis and an all-new six-liter V12 engine, capable of hitting a 7,800rpm red line. Both elements drew on the technology and expertise afforded by Ferrari’s illustrious Formula One program.

Today, more than 20 years after the car was unveiled, the 3.1-second 0 to 100km/h time and top speed in excess of 350km/h still holds up against many modern performance cars. Finished in Rosso Corsa, being “Scocca n.1” (first body) as indicated in its Ferrari Classiche red book, and having covered only 4,800 kilometers from new, Alonso’s Enzo is expected to draw more than €5,000,000 on auction night (P 301.35 million).

The special Enzo is just one in the more than 40 automobiles that’ll go under the hammer at the inaugural L’AstaRossa sale on June 8.
