BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, officially opened its biggest exhibit to date at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026. Through the BYD exhibit, the brand showcases its vision for an electrified and connected Philippines through a massive display of its full New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup and the introduction of two new vehicles.
Coming end-May, the Sealion 7 is a premium, performance-led electric SUV. It combines a bold, aerodynamic aesthetic with a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system. Inside, the Sealion 7 merges luxury with intelligence, featuring a tech-forward cabin and the latest suite of driver-assistance systems, making it a formidable contender in the premium EV segment. Customers can reserve at MIAS or in all BYD dealerships for a P 50,000 reservation fee nationwide starting April 9.
Although no specs are available now, BYD did receive a Department of Energy certification a couple of months before for a solitary variant—the Sealion 7 AWD Performance. Based on their submitted numbers, it means having a combined 530 horsepower (390 kW) and 690 Nm of torque thanks to dual electric motors. 0 to 100 km/h is done in a scant 4.5 seconds, while top speed is set at 215 km/h.
As always, it packs BYD’s LFP blade battery. With a 82.56-kWh net size, it means a range of 456 kilometers (WLTP). Charging can be done at a maximum of 11 kW with an AC connection or 150 kW with a DC connection. It also comes with a V2L discharge adapter.
Meanwhile, the Atto 2 is arriving in the second half of 2026. Based on its DOE homologation, it will come in two variants—the Atto 2 Dynamic and the Atto 2 Premium.
The Atto 2 Dynamic sports a smaller battery and a less powerful motor. The indicated output is 70 kW (95 horsepower) and 180 Nm which points to the Chinese domestic market’s 32-kWh version. This one will have a range of 280 kilometers (NEDC) and a top speed of 160 km/h. The quoted 0 to 100 km/h time is 12 seconds.
On the other hand, the Premium sports a 130 kW (176 horsepower), 290 Nm motor giving it a top speed of 180 km/h. These specs are the same as what Europe gets. This one sports the 45.12-kWh battery giving 380 kilometers of range (NEDC), as confirmed in its specs. 0 to 100 km/h? 7.9 seconds.
Per its DOE documentation, both the Atto 2 Dynamic and Atto 2 Premium will have a maximum AC charging rate of 7 kW, but the Atto 2 Premium will top up on a DC fast charger quicker thanks to its 65 kW peak rate (45 kW for the Atto 2 Dynamic).
The Atto 2 and the Sealion 7 join BYD’s diverse portfolio at MIAS, from its Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), the BYD Seagull, Atto 3, eMAX 7, and Tang EV to its Super DM-i and DMO line up, the BYD Seal 5 DM-i, Sealion 5 DM-i, Sealion 6 DM-i, Tang DM-i, eMAX 9 DM-i and the Shark 6 DMO.
“Our participation in the Manila International Auto Show is the ultimate display of BYD’s relentless innovation. With the showcase of the full NEV line up, we are proving that there is a BYD for every Filipino. We are going beyond just selling cars, we are leading the movement that transforms how the country moves,” says Bob Palanca, Managing Director, BYD Cars Philippines.
Beyond the vehicles, BYD demonstrates how the electric transition is made possible through ACMobility’s integrated charging infrastructure. A dedicated hub display within the booth highlights the nationwide charging network and end-to-end support services that ensure BYD owners stay powered, connected, and ready for the road ahead.
“We have continuously been building the ecosystem that makes electric travel a reality for every Filipino. By expanding the Philippine EV Spine, our nationwide network of over 160 charging locations and counting, we are eliminating range anxiety and fortifying the country’s readiness for EV adoption alongside BYD’s extensive lineup,” says Jaime Alfonso Zobel De Ayala, CEO of ACMobility.
BYD also officially introduced Multimedia Star Alden Richards as the newest face of the brand. As an advocate for technology and innovation, Alden’s partnership with BYD signifies a shared goal of inspiring Filipinos to embrace a more electrified, high-tech and sustainable future on the road.

ReplyDeleteI can see the end of some legacy carmakers who refuse to innovate.
What's your say on this? From UK to China.
DeleteI got nothing to say man 😂 But my next car will be a BYD
DeleteNobody will buy a China Made Vehicles in the PH.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the actual f***? Get out of the rock you’ve been living under and look around.
DeleteWhere have you been? LOL
DeleteYou are wrong sir. Many noobs in the Philippines have already been dazzled by chinese cars. After a few years though, they will cry.
DeleteDapat nakasabay yung BYD Sealion 7 DM-i Plug Hybrid Electric Vehicle sa BYD Sealion 7 EV.
ReplyDeleteAsking people to pay for reservation without revealing the price is ridiculous!
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous April 9, 2026 at 10:58 PM.
DeleteI agree!
And a P50K Reservation Fee when others only require P10k - P20k (sometimes even P5K).
There is something seriously wrong regarding the above article.
.
Don't shoot the messenger.
DeleteSir, my comment is not directed to you and apologies for not making it clear at the onset.
DeleteIt is intended for BYD's act of offering a P50K Reservation Fee without first disclosing the Official SRP of the Sealion 7 !
This act of BYD is chutzpah at best, arrogant at worst.
.
Very well said. Sir Uly just posted what BYD said.
ReplyDeleteSick of all the whining about after sales. After sales is mostly dealer dependent. All brands have a few bad dealers here and there. The only after sales services that depend on the distributor are warranty claim approval (this is also partly dependent on the dealer that files the claim) and parts availability.
DeleteParts availability the problem
Just look at Geely sobrang sikat dati with their Coolray. Where’s it now?
DeleteYou can check where it is now with Geely by searching for new complaints. Makikita mo na very old na (mid 2024 to around January 2025) yung posts of parts complaints. If customers stopped complaining then that's your biggest sign of how things are.
DeleteByd EV’s good, Byd PHEV’s quality not good
Parang may eh. Dapat kunin nila F4 members nalang like Jerry Yan and/or Vic Zhou.
