Ford says that the first-ever Ranger Raptor is unlike any performance truck the world has seen. Inspired by the grueling world of Baja desert racing, it’s not meant to just go over obstacles, but actually jump over them as well. Of course, one doesn’t have to look far to see that Chevrolet’s actually built their own hardcore version of the Colorado. Dubbed the ZR2, it’s a US-only model for now. But what happens if they do meet face-to-face on Manila streets? Well, this tale of the tape will tell.

Ford fans, better buckle up. It’s three days before the launch of Asia Pacific’s first-ever Ford Performance vehicle: the Ranger Raptor. Sibling to the F-150 Raptor and inspired by Baja-racing, the Ranger Raptor is making its debut in the Kingdom of Thailand on February 7, 2018.

UPDATED: Ford Confirms High-Performance Ranger Raptor for Asia-Pacific Market (w/ Video)


Update: Ford Philippines managing director, Bertrand Lessard, just confirmed that the Ford Ranger Raptor is heading to the Philippine market (9/19).

The Baja-conquering Ford F-150 Raptor is getting a sibling, and its name is the Ford Ranger Raptor. Ford broke the news today via social media confirming that the company has been busy working on a high-performance version of its Ranger pickup truck. Purpose-built and desert-racing inspired, Ford has confirmed that it’s coming to the Asia-Pacific region next year.
