These Are The Complete Specs, Prices Of The 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross (w/ Specs)

Toyota Motor Philippines brings in the new Corolla Cross compact crossover for 2024. Three variants are available for the local market, all sporting updated looks, new technology features, and for the first time ever, a standard gasoline-electric powertrain.

Electrifying the Corolla Cross is a 1.8-liter (2ZR-FXE). This proven fuel-efficient powertrain combines an efficient 1.8-liter (98 horsepower, 142 Nm) with an electric motor good for a total of 122 horsepower. This is mated to an E-CVT gearbox driving the front wheels. Dynamic (adaptive) Cruise Control is standard on both the 1.8 V HEV and 1.8 GR-S HEV variants. Generally, these are carried over from before, but the electric motor has been tweaked for improved quietness.

Regarding variants, there are a total of three—1.8 G HEV, 1.8 V HEV, and the 1.8 GR-S HEV.

The 1.8 G HEV and 1.8 V HEV get a new grille with a hexagonal pattern like the Lexus LBX and LM. LED projector headlights, daytime running lights, and front fog lights are standard, but the 1.8 V HEV and 1.8 GR-S HEV get the added flair of sequential turn signal indicators and a rear LED fog lamp. Further differentiating the base model are its 17-inch alloy wheels as both the 1.8 V HEV and 1.8 GR-S HEV get 18-inchers. Toyota has also dropped the Hybrid badge in favor of their global Beyond Zero badging with the words, “HEV.”

Inside, the Corolla Cross ditches the foot operated parking brake for an electronic one that’s supplemented with an auto hold function. A 10-inch display audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and a 6-speaker system is standard. Other amenities include a dual zone climate control system with rear vents. The 1.8 GR-S HEV has a frameless panoramic sunroof. The 1.8 G HEV has a 4.2-inch TFT screen nestled in the instrument cluster which grows to 7 inches in the 1.8 V HEV and 12.3-inch (fully digital) in the 1.8 GR-S HEV.

Finally, when it comes to safety, all 2024 Corolla Cross variants get 7 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, reverse camera, and front and rear parking sensors. Meanwhile, the 1.8 V HEV and 1.8 GR-S HEV are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense that’s been further improved with all-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The 1.8 GR-S HEV adds a 360-degree camera too.

  1. I know they don't want to hurt the name plate "Corolla Cross" which is why they put the HEV naming, but it's hard to read the technical details per variant name on the press release.

They should have omitted the "HEV" off the variant name since all variants are HEV standard; just 1.8G, 1.8V, 1.8 GR-S. HEV or Corolla Cross buyers would understand what they are going into, it's not like they will accidentally discover specs of the car upon visiting the dealerships.

  2. Someone should also compare the base Corolla Cross with the Yaris Cross. Yaris Cross is now more expensive, no? TNGA vs DNGA.

  3. Nice pricing and features

  4. Wonder why the V doesn't have the new alloys as the thai spec one

  5. Toyota should have stuck the M20 in the GR-S but here we are paying almost 2m pesos for a 122hp car.

  6. Do you think the G HEV is already a good value at 1.5M? Tech and safety features still lacking compared to the competition but at least it's now a hybrid. Or just add around 100K and get the Yaris Cross HEV instead?

  7. This is the old engine. Thailand has the Atkinson cycle fuel sipping engine. Japanese dumping old thirsty engine to us.

    1. Not really sure why the Thailand-made Corolla Cross retains the same old 2ZR-FXE rather than using the newer M20A-FXS that the (Innova) Zenix already uses. I guess there's no engine plant of Toyota in Thailand is capable of making Dynamic Force engines?

  8. Why no mention of the type of battery that they use?

    1. It is nickel hydride. Cheaper and less powerful than lithium ion but less chance of overheating and exploding?

  9. There’s no mention of white paint for the 1.8 G but most launch videos of it are in this color. Was that omitted by mistake?

  10. Hybrid plus CVT can be quite a headache for long term owners.

  11. Toyota is very good at recycling parts from their old recycle bin. At least it has some design cues from chinese cars.

  12. Sir Uly, why is the hp and torque output lower in the Corolla Cross hybrid version compared to the now discontinued 1.8 non-hybrid version?
In other hybrid systems, the hp and torque are very high bec of the combined outputs of the ICE and electric motor...

  13. I have the previous GR-S model. It is fun to drive, but the gasoline engine is noisy when it is active. Road noise is also significant. And the 2nd row seats are cramped.

    1. Fun to drive 🤣🤣🤣

    2. Na curious tuloy ako kung ano ang sasakyan niya bago siya nagkaroon ng corolla cross at nasabi niya na fun to drive ito.

    3. Fun to drive bcoz fuel saver, no head aches on reabilities, you can keep on going going going. You can also put it in power mode if you need more power.

    4. The second row seats are cramped because of the placement of the battery under the seats

    5. If being fuel efficient and reliable is the definition of a fun to drive car, then I guess Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis are boring AF.

  14. I think if you buy this car you paying for the hybrid tech. Other brands that are hybrid doesn't even come close to the real world consumption even the ones with newer lithium batteries. Uber and taxis in us are mostly hybrid rav4 or camry so it is tried and tested. Essentially it is the kml that matters the most

  15. Better buy a MG4 ÈV or BYD Atto 3 EV instead
Toyota hybrid vehicles easily gets broken when driven into flooded areas.
Corolla Cross GRS is overpriced too much

    1. Provide concrete proof or you are just imagining things. Have you ever driven these chinese cars in floodwaters?

    2. lol pag nag nabaha ang EV titirikan ka, at least hybrid ng Toyota if tumirik battery and motor may gas engine pa rin

  16. Hybrid and cvt, worst combination

    1. why? you have experienced any problem?
