Shell Expands EV Charger Network To 3 Ortigas-Developed Malls

Shell continues to add new charging stations to cement its position as the leader in mobility energy transition. In partnership with Ortigas Land Corporation (OLC), Shell simultaneously activated Shell Recharge Stations at Estancia Mall, Greenhills-Connecticut Arcade, and Greenhills Missouri.

With the three mall-based charging stations in Metro Manila, Shell Recharge network has added 10 charging points which complements the ultra-rapid charging stations in Shell TPLEX La Union and Shell SLEX Mamplasan.

“Energy transition is a shared responsibility, it thus needs to be a collaborative effort among all industry players, from government agencies to EV manufacturers and dealers to charging station operators, land developers, and even consumers. We all need to do our part to transition to clean energy to help the country achieve the aspired Net Zero Emissions,” said Atty. Diego Santiago from Pasig City Government at the ribbon cutting of the Estancia site.

“OLC embraces technology and embraces the opportunity to make a tangible difference in reducing carbon emissions through Shell Recharge EV Charging Stations in our malls. Shell’s global expertise in EV charging solutions makes it a logical choice to partner with in this endeavor. By serving and enabling socially responsible mall customers in their responsible life choices, OLC is not just charging e-vehicles, OLC is contributing to a movement towards cleaner air, reduced carbon emissions, and a healthier planet for future generations,” said Renee C. Bacani, VP and Head of Ortigas Malls.

“With the rising demand for EV charging solutions, we are happy to work with partners both from the public and private sector to scale this sustainably for the Filipino driver. Our partnership with Ortigas Land is one example of how shared values across industries will make this possible.” explains Jolo Valdez, Head of E-Mobility, Vehicle Care, Convenience Retail, Business Alliances at Shell.

The Shell Recharge network has grown to six sites. The Shell Recharge sites at Shell TPLEX in Rosario, La Union, and the Shell Mamplasan create a 700-kilometer loop for EV owners, allowing them to venture far outside Metro Manila. Meanwhile, the new sites are strategically located to be within reach of all NCR dwellers, and even EV owners in adjacent provinces. The Shell Recharge site in Mamplasan is powered by 100 percent renewable energy and the conversion of the other four sites is currently underway.

    1. Lol, just bring your own port adapter. No biggie. Blame your car's distributor for not having their cars fitted with the standard Type 2 port, even BYD is fitting their local units with said ports.

  2. Keep it up. Build more charing stations.
