Which is the Best Value Performance Car in the Philippine Market?
This year is turning out to be the year of the sportscar. With the introduction of the MX-5 RF 30th Anniversary Edition and the impending arrival of the much-awaited Toyota Supra next week, at least six “affordable” sportscars / sports sedans have entered the market: BMW Z4, Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette, Hyundai Veloster N, Kia Stinger GT, Lexus RC F.

Yes, You Can Now Buy a Hyundai Veloster N in the Philippines
At the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last year, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) showed off 4 product offerings including the second-generation Veloster. Then, HARI brought in a single variant—the Veloster Turbo which is powered by a 204-horsepower 1.6-liter T-GDI engine. Of course, enthusiasts will be enthusiasts and wanted the proverbial forbidden fruit: the Veloster N. Thankfully, HARI is listening and has delivered—the Veloster N is in the Philippines.

Hyundai's Going Head On with the MUGENs, TRDs, and STIs of the World
Hyundai continues with their “sportification” with the preview of the N Option brand. Showcased on the i30 N, the i30 N N Option (that sure sounds like a mouthful) signals Hyundai’s intent to enter the OEM aftermarket parts and accessories business. Its N Option will offer different customization options for owners much like Honda has with MUGEN and Modulo, Toyota with Gazoo and TRD, and Subaru with STI.

Hyundai Philippines Tweaks Prices Due to Excise Tax
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the exclusive distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines has adjusted their pricing taking into account the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN law. After holding back last month, these new prices are effective February 15 and with it, carries an upward movement in the suggested retail price.

Review: 2017 Hyundai Veloster Turbo
Better late than never is an adage perfectly suited to the Hyundai Veloster. While the rest of the world enjoyed its unique and quirky style since 2011, the Philippines had to wait a full five years before this compact hatchback officially made its way to Hyundai showrooms. Those five years was excruciatingly long, filled in-between with “will they” or “won’t they” statements. But now that the Veloster is finally in Manila, in the performance-oriented Turbo guise no less, is it worth the wait?
