Nissan Transforms Note Hatchback Into A Crossover

Nissan, it seems, is following Toyota’s lead in adding an SUV-inspired variant to its sub-compact hatchback.

Available now in Japan, Nissan has come up with this: the Note Autech Crossover. Compared to the regular Note hatchback, this one gains 25 mm more ground clearance as well as side sill protectors, wheel arch garnishes, roof moldings, and unique alloy wheels with larger diameter tires.

Being an Autech model, the Note Autech Crossover has a dot-patterned front grille, metal-finished door mirrors, and exclusive blue LED DRLs.

Nissan says the added ground clearance necessitated a re-tune of the suspension system, particularly the springs, shocks, and steering.

Inside, the Note Autech Crossover has soft leatherette seats. The instrument panel is also adorned with faux-rosewood grain, while the entire interior is based on a black theme that provides both functionality and a high-quality atmosphere.

Powering the Note Autech is the very same e-Power engine found in the regular Note hatchback. This means it makes 116 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque from its EM47 electric motor, while a HR12DE 1.2-liter 3-cylinder acts as a generator.
