All-New 2023 Subaru XV Launching On September 15

Mark your calendars as Subaru will be unveiling the all-new Subaru XV this September 15. Teased but unnamed on their official website, the 2023 Subaru XV is the third-generation model in their best-selling compact crossover line.

Based on the very short teaser (enhanced screen shots taken from there accompany this story), the all-new Subaru XV will depart from being simply an Impreza hatchback on stilts. Still, it will take on a largely evolutionary approach to its design. In fact, from the side, it’s almost identical to the current model. Having said that, previous spy shots indicate that the rear pillar and glass are steeper making it look a tad sportier than before.

Like other modern Subarus, the BOLDER design language dictates that it’ll have C-shaped daytime running lights and brake lights. It also looks to go against the common grain of other car manufacturers by retaining its front fog lights (they’re LEDs) and roof rails.

No one’s managed to snap clear photos of the 2023 Subaru XV’s interior, but it’s very likely that it’ll have a portrait-style tablet similar to the Subaru WRX and Outback.

When it comes to powertrains, Subaru’s managed to keep people guessing. But, based on the badge on the front fender, a hybrid option looks to be on the table. If that’s the case, expect it to be a “strong hybrid” developed with the help of Toyota. Moreover, reports suggest that the carmaker may introduce a downsized turbocharged engine with a 1.5-liter displacement to replace the current 2.0-liter FB20.

Subaru may also use the all-new Subaru XV to launch an updated version of its EyeSight driver assist system which may give it the ability to self-park and add more autonomous driving functionalities. It may also have the ability to upgrade itself Over-The-Air (OTA).

Let’s see what Subaru’s got in store on September 15.
