With Denza formalizing their entry into the Philippine market not through ACMobility, but through BYD Philippines Corporation, the bigger question now is what sort of models would they offer.
Officially, the first salvo of products is expected to hit its four planned showrooms—Makati, Greenhills, Alabang, and Cebu—as early as the first quarter of 2026. Before then, Denza did give a strong hint based on an official photo they have seeded which clearly shows three different products—two SUVs and one MPV.
Here’s what we know so far.
Corroborating the official Denza photo with publicly available documents submitted to the Department of Energy shows that the initial line-up is possibly the Denza B5, Denza B8, and the Denza D9. All are classified as Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles or PHEVs.
The Denza B5, which will come in a solitary variant, will offer 659 horsepower (485 kW) of combined electric output. It’s confirmed to have a large 31.8-kWh battery and a 184-horsepower (135 kW) gasoline generator.
Known as the Fangchengbao Bao 5 in China, The Denza B5 is a mid-sized SUV measuring some 4,888 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height., As an off-road oriented SUV, it offers impressive approach (35 degrees) and departure (32 degrees) angles and three differential locks.
The numbers in its DOE filing suggest that the Philippines will get the dual-motor all-wheel drive variant which sports a 272-horsepower motor at the front and a 387-horsepower motor at the rear. This should offer a 0 to 100 km/h time of around 4.8 seconds. The gas generator is a turbocharged 1.5-liter helping boost the comprehensive range past 1,200 kilometers (all electric range of 100 kilometers).
Next up is the Denza B8 which will come in the Advanced, Dynamic, and Premium variants. Positioned above the Denza B5, the Denza B8 sports larger dimensions (5,095 mm x 1,994 mm x 1,905 mm, in length x width x height).
Carrying the name Fangchengbao Bao 8 in China, the Philippine spec Denza B8 all carry a 680-horsepower electric output (500 kW). Its official filings also show a 36.86 kWh battery. Compared to the B5, the onboard generator grows to a 2.0-liter with 245 horsepower (180 kW).
This three-row body-on-frame SUV occupies the same space as the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Nissan Patrol and could come with an air suspension system once it arrives in local showrooms. This increases the available ground clearance to 310 mm (from 220 mm) along with impressive approach (34 degrees) and departure (35 degrees) angles. Like the Denza B5, it has three differential locks and multiple off-road driving modes.
Finally, there’s the Denza D9—a large MPV (5,250 mm x 1,960 mm x 1,920 mm, length x width x height) powered by a 292 horsepower (215 kW) electric motor with a 40-kWh battery and 96 kW (130 horsepower gas generator).
The Denza D9 and the BYD eMax 9 are related, and in terms of equipment and positioning it would be like comparing the Lexus LM to the Toyota Alphard. With that, expect higher equipment (and a higher price point) compared to its BYD counterpart.
Per its homologation paperwork, the D9 will come in three variants too—the Advanced, Dynamic, and Premium variants.
