Isuzu D-MAX, mu-X Deliver Outstanding Results In 2025 DOE Fuel Eco Run

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again reinforced its reputation for fuel efficiency and advanced diesel engineering after posting impressive results at the 2025 Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Eco-Run, conducted last September 2025 (check out the full results). The annual activity evaluates the real-world fuel efficiency of vehicles available in the Philippine market to help guide consumers toward more informed and practical vehicle choices.

During the run, IPC fielded two of its best-selling light commercial vehicles. The Isuzu D-Max LS-A 4x2 AT competed under the N1 category, recorded an outstanding fuel efficiency rating of 20.63 km/Lge, while the Isuzu mu-X LS-A 4x2 AT delivered an equally impressive 17.11 km/Lge under the M1 mid-size SUV category, highlighting its balance of power, comfort, and efficiency that both models are known for.

“These results reflect what our customers have long experienced with Isuzu vehicles. The exceptional performance of the D-Max and mu-X comes as no surprise, as the Isuzu brand is globally renowned for fuel efficiency. With our advanced diesel engine technology, combined with the aerodynamic design, both models are optimized to perform efficiently across various road conditions with less drag translating into this impressive fuel economy results,” said IPC Sales Division Head Mr. Robert Carlos.

The DOE Fuel Eco-Run is an initiative of the Department of Energy, fully conducted under highway driving conditions to closely simulate real-world usage. For the 2025 run, participating vehicles traversed more than 150 kilometers along the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), with the activity fully supervised and supported by the DOE to ensure standardized and transparent testing parameters. The activity aims to objectively assess vehicle fuel efficiency and provide consumers with reliable, comparable fuel consumption data on vehicles available in the market.

Mr. Carlos also expressed Isuzu’s appreciation for the program, noting, “We thank the Department of Energy for continuously conducting the Fuel Eco-Run. This initiative is a valuable service to Filipino consumers, as it promotes transparency, encourages manufacturers to innovate, and supports the country’s broader goals on energy efficiency and sustainability.”
