Nissan Updates Z For 2027 With Heritage-Inspired Styling

Nissan has used the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon to showcase the first refresh of its Z sportscar. Bowing in as a 2027 model, the nip and tuck changes dip into the Nissan Z heritage bowl, while also giving some actual performance gains.

The changes start with the front-end that resembles that of the Z Nismo. Nissan, however, says it’s still reminiscent of the S30 G-nose. The new bumper has added a bit of length (+30 mm), while also reducing front lift and drag. Meanwhile, the rear stays almost unchanged. Over to the sides, the 19-inch wheels feature a new design which is also meant to callback to preview Z models. In terms of colors, the 2027 Nissan Z now comes in Unryu Green.

The engine and powertrain remains unchanged with the VR30DDTT twin-turbo V6 still providing 400 horsepower. What’s tweaked through is the suspension. The 2027 Nissan Z gets new shock absorbers with increased diameter. This should improve its handling and ride. Moreover, the brakes have also been beefed up.

Inside, an available tan interior joins the color palette.

The refreshed Nissan Z will launch first in Japan by around the middle of 2026 with other markets to follow. The Philippines will likely get that sometime in 2027.
