After revealing it in China last year, the Mazda EZ-60 has now made its way outside of China as the Mazda CX-6e. Made in collaboration with long-time partner Changan, the CX-6e is Mazda’s second battery electric SUV following the MX-30.
For the European market, the CX-6e is offered with just one powertrain and battery option. The single rear-drive electric motor produces 258 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque enough for a 7.9-second 0 to 100 km/h sprint. The 78-kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery offers a range of about 482 kilometers on a single charge. AC charging is capped at 11 kW, while DC fast charging is capped at 195 kW.
Compared to other Mazda models, the CX-6e is decidedly screen heavy with a sweeping 26-inch display dominating the cockpit. The dual-split layout with gesture controls provides the driver with pertinent vehicle information, while the passenger can enjoy the wide infotainment options. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto is standard as is multi-lingual voice recognition and touch gestures.
Three color combinations are on offer—Warm Beige or Black Maztex, or the striking two-tone Amethyst and White Maztex.
In terms of the exterior, the Kodo design language now considers the “future of electric mobility.” This prompted Mazda to come up with the “Soulful Futuristic Modern” theme. This means the CX-6e has an ultra-long 2,902 mm wheelbase (4,850 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height), short overhangs, and the use of cameras for its sideview mirrors. A new color—Nightfall Violet—shows a deep and glossy tone that shifts between a lustrous purple glow and near-black shadows depending on the light.
The Mazda CX-6e will be exported from China and will go on sale in Europe starting the middle of 2026 with other markets to follow.
