The 2026 Volvo EX60 Makes You Forget About Range Anxiety

Volvo Cars launched the EX60—its entry in the largest electric segment globally. Built on a new platform and running newly developed in-house motors, the Swedish carmaker says it delivers on range, charging speed, and performance.

Built on Volvo’s new SPA3 architecture and powered by HuginCore, Volvo’s new core system, it sets new standards in scalability, modularity, and manufacturing efficiencies. Some of the key feature include the use of “mega casting,” cell-to-body construction, and new e-motors and battery cell design.

The EX60 will arrive with three powertrains—the P12 AWD Electric variant offers 680 horsepower (500 kW) and 790 Nm of torque enough for a 3.9-second 0 to 100 km/h sprint. The P10 AWD Electric, meanwhile, offers 510 horsepower (375 kW) and 710 Nm while the rear-wheel drive P6 Electric delivers 374 horsepower (275 kW) and 480 Nm.

Thanks to a 117-kWh battery, the P12 AWD Electric offers a class-leading 810 kilometers of range. The P10 AWD Electric’s 95-kWh goes up to 660 kilometers, while the P6 Electric’s 83-kWh delivers 620 kilometers. An 800-volt architecture ensures of quick charging times, delivering 340 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes using a 400-kW fast charger.

The EX60 takes Volvo’s Scandinavian design principles further into the electric era. Its low front, sloping roofline, and tapered body sides all boost aero efficiency (0.26 co-efficient of drag), while the long wheelbase (2,970 mm) and flat floor create an expansive interior room, particularly for those in the backseat.

Touted as Volvo’s most intelligent car to date, the EX60’s HuginCore empowers the car to “think, process, and act.” The core system is developed in collaboration with Google, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. It’s also the first Volvo model to come with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant.

For those who love music, the EX60 is available with a 28-speaker Bower & Wilkins audio system. For the first time in a Volvo car, this system also includes headrest speakers in all four main seats. The EX60 will be the first Volvo with Apple Music pre-installed with Dolby Atmos.

The EX60 is also the safest model Volvo has ever produced. The improved safety cage, manufactured with boron steel, offers award-winning crash protection backed up by innovations such as multi-adaptive seatbelts and a multitude of sensors and cameras that are updatable throughout the vehicle’s life.

The Volvo EX60 starts production and delivery of the P6 and P10 variants first by the middle of 2026, with the P12 following soon after that.
