Nissan’s plan to leverage Nismo as part of their corporate recovery is off to a good start. Shown at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon is the Aura Nismo RS Concept—an electrified take on a hot hatch complete with more power and aggressive styling.
Using the serial hybrid e-Power drivetrain, engineers managed to significantly boost the Aura Nismo RS Concept’s outputs compared to the standard Aura. The BM46 front motor makes 204 horsepower (150 kw) and 330 Nm of torque, while the MM48 adds an additional 136 horsepower (100 kW) and 195 Nm. Meanwhile, the onboard 1.5-liter generator (KR15DDT) makes 144 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.
Apart from raising the Aura Nismo RS Concept’s output, engineers also tuned its e-4orce all-wheel drive system for even better traction and cornering performance. The wider fenders—expanded by 145 mm enabled Nismo to fit in Nismo LM GT4 18-inch wheels with 245/45R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Braking performance has been improved thanks to four-pot front and two-pot rear brake calipers. The height was dropped 20 mm.
Now, for those worried about weight, Nissan says the Aura Nismo RS Concept weighs about 100 kilograms more than the standard Aura Nismo.
Communicating the added performance is done through the aero enhancements that include a front spoiler, side skirts, a rear diffuser with Nismo’s signature red accents, airflow-optimized front fenders, side air splitters, and a dedicated rear spoiler. All are designed to improve downforce and reducing drag. The exclusive Dark Matte Nismo Stealth Gray finish ensures a consistent surface look despite sunlight intensity.
While the Aura Nismo RS Concept is a concept, Nissan has confirmed that they are planning to refine and optimize it further for both commercial and racing applications. Exciting times.
