Jaguar E-Pace to Make Philippine Debut at MIAS

Coventry Motors Corporation has just confirmed that its centerpiece at the 2018 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is the Jaguar E-Pace compact crossover.

The newest member of the Jaguar “Pace” or SUV family, the E-Pace promises to deliver the British brand’s knack for delivering driving performance combined with a sports car inspired design DNA as well as crossover-like space and practicality.

Smaller than the F-Pace, the E-Pace seats five adults and their luggage. The interior is detail-laden as evidenced by the small “cub graphic” on the windshield, “chicane line” on the upper dash, and Jaguar print on the labels and floor mats.

Despite the name, the E-Pace is powered purely by an internal combustion engine. Its Active Driveline AWD system can shift all of the engine torque front to back or side to side in a bid to either increase performance or fuel efficiency.

Coventry Motors has yet to reveal the E-Pace’s Philippine engine line-up, but a safe bet would be the same 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine shared with the Jaguar XE. With a model designation of D180 AWD, this particular E-Pace boasts of 180 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The transmission is likely a 9-speed automatic.

More details on the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace will be unveiled at the Manila International Auto Show which runs from April 5-8, 2018 at the World Trade Center.
