Honda And Google To Collaborate On In-Car Infotainment, Connected Services

Honda has announced that it will be integrating Google’s in-vehicle connected services on future models. It will launch first into an all-new model slated for a North American launch in the second half of 2022, followed by a global roll out soon thereafter.

Honda and Google have been collaborating since 2015 by using the Android platform on its vehicles. However, the new collaboration will further advance their cars’ interface.

Key features set to be rolled out across Honda vehicles include Google Assistant which enables drivers to accomplish tasks using natural voice commands, and Google Maps. Honda will also allow owners to add applications using Google Play.

Honda joins a growing list of automakers using Google’s system. The list includes Ford, Stellantis (formerly FCA), Nissan, Renault, and Volvo.
