2022 Lexus ES Arrives In the Philippines With A Starting Price Of P 3.758M (w/ Specs)

Lexus has finally launched the 2022 Lexus ES mid-sized premium sedan for the Philippines after a short tease. Order books are now open with customer deliveries to start by the fourth quarter of this year.

Currently, one out of every four Lexus models sold worldwide is the ES and with that remains a testament to its refinement and superior comfort.

The newest version doesn’t debut the F Sport trim, but it does come with a gasoline-hybrid engine variant for the first time.

Changes to the 2022 Lexus ES’s exterior are minimal—limited to just the new mesh-grille insert, new alloy wheel designs, and sharper-looking headlights.

However, underneath changes were made to increase its torsional rigidity, further improving its handling and ride comfort. Furthermore, the brake system has been changed with a larger brake pedal, an optimized vacuum brake system master cylinder and booster for the gas model, and a reprogrammed Electronically Controlled Brake System (ECB) for the hybrid. In both cases, they promise a more linear brake feel and response.

Inside, the 2022 Lexus ES continues with its “Seat in Control” concept. Blending a driver-centric cockpit with the spaciousness and comfort expected of a luxury sedan, it benefits from a streamlined instrument panel design that makes sure that all the controls are within easy reach, and the information needed is in plain view. The 2022 Lexus ES embraces human-centered updates to the Lexus Multimedia system.

2022 Lexus ES 350 Premier (P 4,728,000)

Continuing to deliver strong and efficient performance from its 3.5-liter V6, the 2022 Lexus ES 350 packs 302 horsepower and 356 Nm of torque. This is mated to an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic. Power is then put to the ground through 235/45R18 tires on all four corners.

Feature sets of the ES 350 Premier include rain-sensing wipers; automatic trunk operation with a kick sensor; semi-aniline leather seats, driver and front passenger 10-way power seats, and front-seat ventilation systems.

Front and center is a 12.3-inch Electro Multi Vision Touch Display which has Apple Carplay, Android Auto, Smartphone Linking, and Miracast. Audiophiles will appreciate the high-end 17-Speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound. Wireless charging comes standard as well.

The ES 350 Premier is equipped with Lexus’s most advanced safety technology. The Lexus Safety System (LSS) addresses the three most common accident types: frontal collisions, lane departures, and nighttime accidents. Dynamic radar cruise control; adaptive high beams; lane-tracing assist with lane-departure alert; blind-spot monitor (BSM); and rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA) work in conjunction with an entire suite of standard luxury safety features.

2022 Lexus ES 300h (P 3,758,000)

New to the Philippine market, the Lexus ES 300h represents entry into the Lexus ES range. It packs a 2.5-liter inline-4 with laser-clad intake valve seats and an optimized intake port shape to promote fuel efficiency and high thermal efficiency. On its own, it makes 178 horsepower and 221 Nm of torque. But combined with an electric motor, it bumps up the power to a combined total of 218 horsepower mated to a CVT.

The quiet nature of the gasoline-hybrid engine maximizes the attributes of the Lexus ES’s GA-K platform which is all about mimicking the reactions of the human body. Through careful analysis of human movement and responses, Lexus engineers say it serves as a natural extension to the driver’s body—especially when it comes to steering input, response, and comfort.

The ES 300h features synthetic leather seating with an 8-way power adjustment for the driver and front passenger seat. It also gets an 8-inch Touch Display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Smartphone Linking and Miracast; plus, a 10-speaker sound system. It also rolls on 17-inch wheels with 215/55R17 tires.

Whether it’s the ES 350 Premier or the ES 300h, the 2022 Lexus ES is designed for the luxury-car buyer looking for a comfortable executive saloon with European character and nimble handling. The new ES family builds upon this recipe for success with numerous multimedia, safety and, style, updates.

  1. reliability? ES > Bimmer 5 > Jag XF
eye-catching on the road? ES > Jag XF > Bimmer 5
want to be part of the story and brand history? Jag > BMW > Lexus
instant corp or exec stance? Bimmer 5 > ES > Jag XF

Merc? E class is staple and boring but reliable luxury.
