If You Think The Ford Ranger Couldn't Get Even More Premium, They Come Up With The 2023 Ranger Platinum

When it comes to the top-spec Ranger, Ford fans has their eyes on the Ranger Raptor—the Baja-conquering off-road spec version of the next-gen truck. But what if you couldn’t care about jumping over sand dunes and all that? What if all you want is a touch of luxury and even more premium features? Seems Ford now has you covered with the first-ever Ranger Platinum.

Just launched for the Australian market, the Ranger Platinum is decidedly the most luxurious version of the next-gen Ranger ever made.

Exterior enhancements include a unique grille, ‘Platinum’ hood badging, silk chrome trims, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Upfront, it gets standard Matrix LED headlights with dynamic leveling, while at the back are full LED taillights. It also gets a damped (gas strut) tailgate along with Ford’s new Flexible Rack System and a power roller shutter. Joining the color palette is Equinox Bronze—a color previously available only on the Everest as well as an optional black painted roof.

Inside, the Ranger Platinum gets the Everest’s dashboard which features a closed shelf and upper glove box. It also gets quilted leather seats and a heated steering wheel. The front seats are heated and ventilated with 10-way power adjust and with memory function for the driver, while the 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-inch multi-function touchscreen adds to the sense of opulence. It also adds a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, an auxiliary switch bank, and of course, Platinum badging on the front seats, dashboard, and floor mats.

Exclusively powering the Ranger Platinum is a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel producing 250 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through the Ranger’s electronically controlled full-time four-wheel drive system, combined with Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

For its launch market of Australia, the Ranger Platinum will come with an SRP of AUD 76,990 (P 2.919 million). Production starts in April 2023, with customer deliveries to start by May 2023.
