First Units Of Omoda 5 Have Arrived In The Philippines

After previewing it to the local press in China (read our first impressions here, or watch our first impressions here), Omoda Philippines has confirmed that the first batch of Omoda 5 Turbo compact crossovers have arrived in the Philippines.

Arriving a couple of months before the planned start of retail sales, the Omoda 5 (seen in photos being unwrapped by Marco Chen, Country Director of Omoda Philippines) will undergo a series of pre-launch activities and previews.

Chen, who is currently based in Omoda’s headquarters in Anhui, China, personally flew in to expect the Philippine units. Omoda has confirmed that they will offer two variants of the Omoda 5 Turbo: an entry-level and a top-of-the-line spec. It will be joined by the long-range version of the Omoda 5 EV.

“We are excited to finally have the actual Omoda 5 units in the country. This way, we can have an avenue to offer our stakeholders, media partners, and potential clients a full-on experience with the car even before it’s formal launch. We also have some pre-launch activities in the pipeline that’s geared towards building more confidence with our products,” said Uzzi Asuncion, Philippines Brand Manager for Omoda and Jaecoo.

Omoda and Jaecoo is scheduled to soft launch their brands in the Philippines by year-end 2023 and start retail by early 2024.

  1. Nothing to expect with this Omoda 5. Same under metal as Chery Tiggo7Pro and JETOUR Dashing. If the price is right they could make sales if not definitely soon will shutdown. Still Ford Territory is the best Small SUV in town with 50k more discounts.
