After surprising the public with the announcement of an early sneak preview, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines opens the reservations for the all-new Triton. Retail sales begins on January 26, 2024.
Cutting to the chase, the all-new Triton comes in seven variants for the local market and the following prices:
The all-new Triton is powered by a newly-developed 2.4 liter engine MIVEC diesel engine with either 183 horsepower and 430 Nm or 204 horsepower and 470 Nm (depending on variant). This is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. Cruise control is available on most variants.

- GLX 2WD AT – P 1,383,000
- GLX 4WD AT – P 1,561,000
- GLS 2WD AT – P 1,582,000

Special pre-launch deals are also available starting today until January 25.
It rides on a tougher more durable frame that marries comfort and off-road capability. Rigorously tested to provide increased strength and reduced weight, it also comes with a new shock-absorption system for a more plaint ride even on the harshest terrain. Its capability is is backed up by the Easy Select or Super Select-II 4WD system.
Inside the all-new Triton, it has promises improved comfort and space as well as connectivity. Features include dual zone climate control, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
3 SRS airbags are standard as are ABS with EBD and Active Stability Control with Hill Start Assist. The Athlete builds up on that with 7 SRS airbags and a full suite of advanced driver assist systems including Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also receives a Multi-Around View Monitor (360-degree camera), Active Yaw Control, and parking sensors all around.
The all-new Triton comes on seven colors, depending on variant:

- Graphite Gra
- Jet Black
- Red Solid
- White Solid
- Blade Silver (new)
- Yamabuki Orange (new)

Only the Athlete gets bi-turbo while the other variants get the single turbo with miniscule power increase over the last model. It also seems that MMPC is positioning the GLX to be the replacement of the previous GLS (hopefully the GLX gets LED headlights, unlike what Isuzu did with the D-Max where only the top spec gets LED) while the GL is positioned be the replacement of the previous generation GLX. The new GLS trim seems to be the replacement of the GT trim from the last generation (it comes with ADAS and all that), albeit in 2WD form only. Shame that there's no 2WD version of the Athlete with the bi-turbo engine.

Delete^Agree, nothing is perfect. In every model update, it isn't imperative to increase the engine power and torque. Maintenance cost for single and bi-turbo are also a bit different and must have been part of the manufacturer's consideration.
DeleteI hope this time the 4WD variants come with a rear diff lock. Mitsubishi's off road traction control is pretty good but nothing beats a good ol difflock in challenging situations

Isuzu D Max and Mazea BT50 only got two airbags on low and mid level variants.
Having just 3 airbags compared to 6 for similarly priced Navara or 7 for similarly priced Ford will be the only reason for me NOT to buy Triton. I love everything else, but not having side/curtain airbags is a deal breaker.
