2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Is Most Powerful Non-Type R Civic Ever

After revealing its refreshed design earlier this year, Honda has released more info on the refreshed 2025 Civic. Set to debut for the North American market, it previews the possible upcoming new Civic headed for other regions, including ASEAN, as well.

As previously revealed, the 2025 Civic gains a new front fascia and grille. The front bumper is entirely new with sharper surfacing, a wide lower bumper, and slim vertical side intakes. The grille also removes the controversial “dolphin nose” bump in favor of a trapezoidal design with a hexagonal insert pattern. Other visible changes include the omission of the front fog lamps, new alloy wheel designs (the Hybrid models get special tires too), and dark-tinted taillights.

New colors: Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, Blue Lagoon Pearl, and Sand Dune Pearl have been added to the palette.

Honda has now detailed what’s new with the Civic’s interior and they’re surprisingly minor. Chief among them is a new infotainment screen. The 9-inch screen, like the one used in the CR-V, supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Faster charging USB Type C ports also replace the USB A ones. The Honda Sensing safety suite has been enhanced with blind spot monitors with rear cross traffic alert.

Underneath, Honda has tweaked the Civic’s dynamics with revamped spring and damper tunings for 2025.

Mechanically, the big news is the availability of a gasoline-electric hybrid for the first time in a Civic in North America. The Civic Hybrid now becomes the most powerful non-Type R Civic model ever thanks to its combined 200 horsepower and 314 Nm of torque outputs. The Civic Hybrid also has Linear Shift Control that mimics the vehicle speed-linked rev feel typically associated with a conventional drivetrain shifting gears under acceleration. Honda says it’s quicker than the Civic 1.5 Turbo.

The refreshed Civic will arrive in US dealerships by June where Honda expects 40 percent of sales will be down to the new hybrid model.

  1. I hope the RS Variant is not limited to the hybrid engine when this gets release in ASEAN

  2. Hoping Honda will price it well once it arrives here in the PHI especially now with the Zero tarrif. I personally would want Honda to continue doing sales but they've been overpricing their product offerings lately.

    1. Honda Ph has been overpricing their products ever since. They want them to be seen as a premium brand that’s why there’s no Honda taxi.
