After a lengthy preview, Nissan Philippines has finally launched the all-new 2027 Nissan Kicks e-Power and prepare to be shocked with its pricing.

- Gun Metallic w/ Black Roof (LE Plus)
The Kicks continues with the same e-Power serial hybrid. This means having a front-driven electric motor (EM47) producing 136 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque driving the wheels. Instead of plugging in, a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder (HR12DE) gasoline generator with 79 horsepower and 103 Nm generates electricity stored in a 2.09 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Still riding on the same platform as the outgoing Kicks, the 2027 model is heavily modified giving it a strong sense of agility and youthful energy. The entire front end is new—hood, bumpers, and fenders. The characteristic V-Motion grille is now more three-dimensional for a confident appearance. Meanwhile, the modernized lighting signature sees the DRLs separated from the main beams. The main beams itself offer enhanced illumination.
At the sides, the Kicks e-Power gets new 17-inch alloy wheels, while at the back, it has a cleaner, uncluttered design with hexagonal-shaped lamps along with new bumpers, and a matte black “KICKS” emblem.
Inside, the refreshed Kicks has been extensively updated. It gets a new full 7-inch digital gauge cluster, while at the center is a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen. It also offers both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
The cabin has been elevated by a newly designed front console, center console, door panels, and a leather wrapped steering wheel. The seats themselves offer improved comfort with its Zero Gravity design with anti-heat coating to the synthetic leather seats. There’s also a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat and a camera-based Intelligent Rearview Mirror. Over to the rear seats, the seatback angle has been increased slightly. Together with the larger headrests and center armrest with dual cupholders, it makes for a more habitable exterior.
In terms of colorway, the VE and VL grades come in a Black and Dark Gray Leather interior, while the LE Plus comes exclusively in Moonstone Leather.
The 2027 Nissan Kicks also integrates ProPilot—an intelligent system designed to reduce driving stress on highways. By integrating Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) with Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) with Stop and Go, ProPilot helps keep the vehicle centered in its lane while maintaining a preset speed and safe distance from the vehicle ahead. If the car begins to drift out of its lane, it provides a warning and gently steers it back. It can also stop and start more easily, reducing the burden of driving on highways and long-distance trips, as well as minimizing fatigue during the journey. The system operates continuously for as long as the driver keeps their hands on the steering wheel.
It also has a comprehensive suite of ADAS technologies—more than the outgoing Kicks. These include Leading Car Departure Notification (LCDN), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW) that can monitor the movement of two vehicles ahead, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection (IEB), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) with Blind Spot Intervention (BSI), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) with Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Rear Automatic Emergency Braking (RAEB) and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Additional features such as Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVM), Moving Objective Detection (MOD), High Beam Assist (HBA), and Driver Attention Alert (DAA).
NissanConnect Services also debuts on the Kicks e-Power for the first time. This allows users to be seamlessly connected with their vehicle through their smartphone. It unlocks features such as remote engine start to real-time vehicle monitoring.
The all-new Kicks e-Power comes with a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty as well as an 8-year warranty on the high-voltage lithium-ion battery. As a special offer, it also comes with 1-year Nissan Protect+ which covers all PMS costs for one year and 3 years of NissanConnect Services.

VE better than Corolla cross G, HRV V and xforce GT
ReplyDeleteShit car with high price tag
ReplyDeleteGood thing the 1.7m Kicks has ProPilot but the 2.2m X-Trail does not...
ReplyDeleteThis price increase made the Kicks a direct Sealion 6 competitor, basically.
Nissan's Kicks is a B-SUV (subcompact) while the SL6 is a "large" C-SUV (compact) crossover. SL6 is still a class above in terms of size at almost the same price level.
DeleteAC synchronous motor is kinda old school and a thing of the past as opposed to the newer more advanced Permanent magnet synchronous motors offered by chinese hybrid cars. The 1.70M price tag is unrealistic for the kicks. Heck, u can get a full hybrid jaecoo j5 for less than 1M..
ReplyDeleteThe kicks dimensions posted is for the older model.
ReplyDeleteThis new model is actually bigger wider and taller..
What’s improved vs. the outgoing Kicks? All I’m sure is it got more expensive.
ReplyDeleteWhere will our units be sourced from?
ReplyDeleteI would probably not turn up my nose if this were the actual ALL-NEW model sold in the States. Nissan has had time to read the market and how its current range is doing against the competition. Alas, they came up with a "refresh" that's significantly more expensive with nothing really noteworthy of conversation. Well, it's their business, their decision.
ReplyDeleteGanda!!!! This will be a day one purchase for me. Better than to gamble on chinese cars that after some years won't be here!
ReplyDeleteIs the CVTCtransmjssion better than most Nissan's jerky CVT?
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with transmission. CVTC is Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control. This one uses a single-speed reduction gear just like a typical EV.
Deletehow's the NVH?
ReplyDelete136HP 280Nm for 1.8M🤦♂️
ReplyDeleteThis only proves that Japanese pricing can now be considered premium. Even with the recent launch of the Mitsubishi Outlander, which is a large compact crossover SUV priced at P2.8M, it is evident that Japanese car brands are not able to cope with Chinese brands' pricing approach. For instance, Jetour's T1 PHEV (also a large compact SUV) is currently positioned at P1.8M. That's a P1M difference versus the Outlander, an "outlandish" pricing strategy in a sea of sub P2M large compact Chinese SUVs.
