Toyota Motor PH Unveils GR86 Cup Car For P 2.96M; All Set For 30-Car Grid In 2027

Toyota Motor Philippines has confirmed a new racing class joining the Tamaraw OMR and the Vios OMR at the 2027 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup: the GR86 One-Make Race (OMR) Class.

“Developed with the help of Autoplus, the GR86 race car embodies Toyota Gazoo Racing’s commitment to pure driving enjoyment. We look forward to welcoming a new generation of drivers and enthusiasts as we expand our racing platform to three one-make race classes: the Vios, the Tamaraw, and now, the GR86,” says Toyota Motor Philippines president Masando Hashimoto.

Once it goes racing in 2027, the GR86 OMR will be the largest one-make sportscar grid in the Philippines with a target of 30 racers lining up side-by-side. It’s understood that all 30 units are already spoken for.

Toyota Motor Philippines is offering two versions of the GR86 Cup Car—the Base (“Core”) Spec Car priced at P 2,960,000 and a Performance Spec Cup Car priced at P 3,290,000.

With a stock GR86 MT priced at P 2,987,000, it means that the Base Spec Car is actually cheaper, but comes race ready.

Standard on the GR86 Cup Car Core Spec Car are:
  • Roll Cage
  • Recaro RSS-L Bucket Seat
  • Schroth Clubman 2x2 Harness
  • BRD Engine Oil Cooler

The GR86 Performance Spec Cup Car adds:

  • Riaction One-Way Coilovers + Adjustable Stabilizer Links
  • MID Racing R10 Evo Racing Wheels (17 x 8.0)

Both versions of the GR86 OMR share the same stock 2.4-liter flat-4 (FA24) putting out 237 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 3,700 rpm. This is mated to a 6-speed manual that drives the rear wheels through a limited slip differential (LSD).

Minor specification and performance tweaks are expected ahead of the 2027 season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup.
