Hyundai And Grab Are Working Together To Accelerate EV Adoption In Southeast Asia
Hyundai and Grab are looking to strengthen their ongoing strategic partnership by focusing on accelerating EV adoption in Southeast Asia. As such, the group, which includes both Hyundai and Kia will develop programs and initiatives that lower the barriers of entry for Grab drivers and delivery-partners to adopt EVs such as lowering the total cost of ownership and reducing range anxiety.

Hyundai Group Invests Additional US$ 250 Million in Grab
Hyundai Motor Group and Grab Holdings Inc. (Grab), Southeast Asia’s leading O2O (online to offline) mobile platform, announced an agreement under which Hyundai Motor Company (“Hyundai”) and Kia Motors Corporation (“Kia”) will invest an additional US$250 million (P 13.15 trillion) into Grab and establish a partnership to pilot EV programs across Southeast Asia.

Toyota Invests US$ 1 Billion in Grab
Toyota announced today that it is collaborating with Grab to strengthen their partnership and expand their collaboration in Southeast Asia. As part of this agreement, the Japanese automaker will invest USD 1 billion in Grab. Furthermore, to accelerate decision-making, one Toyota executive will be appointed to Grab’s board of directors and a dedicated Toyota team member will be seconded to Grab to as an executive officer, with Toyota considering more personnel exchanges in the future.
